Don’t get me wrong Tel looks an immense talent but it does feel like whoever is making these transfer decisions, whether it be Lange, Levy, Ange or a mix of all three really aren’t giving too much thought to things OR are signing players they’re immediately giving up on. Tel can play across the front three and I think in time he wants to be a ST but right now he’s best at LW, though I reckon for the immediate he’ll probably play RW(?). That now means in Ange’s tenure alone, if this goes through, we’ll have signed 4 LWs: Solomon Werner Odobert (can play RW) Tel along with two RWs: Johnson Yang (can play LW) And we already had: Son Kulu Moore 6 WFs signed and 3 were already at the club. Crazy.
How much of the sale will be involved with the Kane money , unlike Levy to miss out on a deal like that
It is a bizarre obsession. We can safely say (I hope) that Werner won't be here next season. Hopefully next month too, if we are allowed to cancel the loan. Son won't be around for much longer. I can see Ange trying to sell Richarlison in the summer. I think he wants Kulu to shift permanently into the deeper role he's played for much of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if we tried to sell Brennan in the summer. He's an infuriating player, amazing end product but literally doesn't do anything else.
I'd love to see if him and Spence could recreate their promotion form for Forest from a few years back. They had a 62% win rate with both of them that season. Without? 10%. Played 10, won 1, drew 2, lost 7.
The only defensive link I've seen is Tomori, which I find a little bizarre. Why are Milan interested in selling him?
this volume of player in these 2 positions is crazy. The Tel signing reeks of regret over previous purchases/loans we’ve made. - Werner, Johnson, Solomon the main 3, I’d imagine. And with Odobert’s unexpected long term injury, you can probably add him to that list too. But the 3 former players in that list were poor decisions. Werner - every man and his dog knew was crap in the premier league, yet we still went for it. Solomon was a standard cheap option to bolster the squad. One of many wingers we’ve had previous experience of making the exact same type of signing. Johnson - ludicrously expensive, and has proven to be what most fans thought he would. I don’t know enough about Tel, but the fact he plays for Bayern gives me a little more confidence that it might be 27th time lucky, with this one.
I’d be all over Tomori. Romero likely to leave in the summer and Dragusin imo isn’t good enough to be first choice so getting in a decent centre back now would be ideal.
Apparently Bayern still owe Spurs money for Kane so yeah you’re probably right. It would suit both clubs. I think it will happen tbh.
Bayern have already agreed. Ultimately it is now down to the player. Does he fancy Champions League football and regular trophies, or a relegation battle? Choices...choices...
Reguilon is being linked with a few clubs for a move this window. Putting aside Ange's baffling refusal to use him, we'd be mad to let him go. He's already proven very useful in a number of games. With no LCB cover and Udogie injured, selling him now would be unbelievably dumb. So that is exactly what I expect us to do.
we’re relying on harry putting a word in and asking a favour to help us out, as well as Eric begging him to finish what he started with that “fan” in the stands.
...anybody else got the feeling we're letting Paratici do his thing this week? please log in to view this image
Romano has confirmed that Levy is now directly handling the negotiation for Tel. Josh Onomah and a packet of Wotsits icominggggg
I don't think we'll get that done unfortunately. My gut feeling is that Romero will be off this summer which will probably bring quite a windfall but will also leave us needing a bit of a reshuffle. Phillips and Vuskovic will need to be assessed to see if they can step into the senior squad. Same for Dorrington. I think we'll wait to see how much we get for Romero before acting.
