That's exactly what I am saying and it is a proper analysis of the situation. Some signings will be well above average in terms of value and some will be well below. The only correlation I can see is that the higher the fee the less likely you will lose out. There is no evidence at all that Spurs are worse than average at this, never mind so bad that anyone ought to be blamed.

This is definitely true. I think where we perhaps performed worse than most teams is in the fact that not a single player signed between Wanyama in 2016 and Romero in 2021 actually improved the team. In fact most of them went on to barely feature at all until they eventually left Spurs having contributed almost nothing (some are still here and still contributing almost nothing). That is a horrendous run of poor recruitment that I doubt you'll see at any other major club, with Man United being the only possible exception.
Everton too. I mean I respect the fact they went for it but ****ing hell they made a real hash. We got very fortunate though in that we had Kane and Son, it’s frightening to think where we could’ve been without those two over roughly a 4 year spell where they carried the team. Everton certainly don’t/ didn’t have a Kane or Son and they’ve almost been relegated for about three years on a trot.
Yang’s started following Spurs on insta apparently. I can see this move being announced before, during or after the game on Wednesday, he’ll likely be playing against us, so it’ll be a sort of showcase piece to then announce his transfer at some point around the game.

Agree about the annoyance but I do generally consider them a massive club. Feels like they should be up here with us and Villa as the teams looking to crack that elite group.
