Yesterday he was saying it was good that Spurs had missed out on him and now he’s saying it will be a great signing. I just find him to be very inconsistent and imo he makes stuff up for clicks

He didn't say it was good that spurs missed out in my view. He said he'd be a great signing for Brentford.

Have no idea how good a player he is or isn't tbh

 

The real question is whether this speeds Rodon headed the other way before the PSR deadline

£40m being touted which for an 18 year old from the Championship is a hell of a gamble. Smashes the current record which iirc has been held by Ollie Watkins for quite a few years.

If we are spending this kind of money, I can only hope it means Royal is definitely off to Milan and Rodon is definitely heading to Leeds as part of the deal (albeit it won't appear that way on the books as they'll need to show £40m clear profit for FFP, so it will come across as a separate deal).

The fact he covers two positions, both RB and DM, is a definite plus. He certainly shows more aptitude in transitioning from defence to attack than Hojbjerg and post-ankle nobbling Skipp, too

It also has to be said he's already fully COYS: Leeds were hoping he'd be a part of their team in the Premier League in 2022-3, only for him to get stretchered off 11 minutes after coming on in a pre-season friendly thanks to John McGinn

Because there's nothing more Spurs than getting a long-term injury against Villa

 

Gray would be an exceptional signing , athletic, great on the ball, great vision, versatile can be a perfect inverted RB in our system and could possibly develop into a fantastic number 6 , and by all accounts a very well rounded kid .

He's a DM, Farke moved him to RB as cover, did well there but struggled a few times against wingers with pace, he didn't come up against many in the Championship but will in the PL.
I would think you've bought him for potential as a DM. Personally I think he's a couple of years away yet from being a PL player but he will be one and a very good one.
It's caused ruptions in our fanbase and the Gray family, he doesn't want to leave but his hand as been forced, as we need the money tonight. Summerville was supposed to go to fill the void but refused the clubs that came in for him .

If he does join there’s a real opening at DM so Gray might find that he could be in and around the XI this season a fair bit if Ange puts faith in him, especially with Europa League too. Bissouma hasn’t nailed the position as expected and could even be a surprise departure if we get a bid, Bentancur is better as a number 8 and Hojbjerg and Skipp are expected to leave. If he’s also able to cover RB too then that’s an added bonus as Emerson should hopefully be off in a few weeks so someone to compete and cover Porro will be needed… it’s needed even with Emerson here.
