Likely torpedoes Eze, too Once again, big thanks to the bloke currently in charge of Fenerbahce who decided we didn't need to sign him...
Archie Grey would cost a fraction of that, and be a more useful squad player given he can play DM, CM and RB
I don’t know much about Gray but I really don’t rate Gallagher, wouldn’t want him for £20 million yet alone being the marquee signing of the summer
The main takeaway about Gray is he's a DM, but a good enough utility player that he was keeping Djed Spence out of Leeds' team for the first half of last season
Football Italia are linking us with Fiorentina RB Michael Kayode Would now be a bad time to mention that I suggested we look at him months ago?
Alasdair Gold has said who is and isn't on our striker shortlist On the List Jonathan David (Lille) Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus, albeit as Paratici is a fan) Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting, albeit with reservations about his price tag) Not on the List Ivan Toney (Brentford) Lois Openda (Monster Energy Dusseldorf) Federico Chiesa (Juventus) Joshua Zirkzee (Bologna) Serhou Guirassy (Stuttgart) No Longer on the List Santiago Gimenez (Feyenoord) Dominic Solanke (Bournemouth)
Those ever-reliable Turkish sources claim Sebastian Szymanski has agreed personal terms on a four-year contract, though Fenerbahce are quibbling on our offer of €17.5m
Looks like Jacob Ramsey is on the shortlist, with Gary Jacob claiming we offered £20m + Lo Celso and Dan KP is claiming we're preparing another bid as Villa value Ramsey in the £40-50m band...because the previous bid was made three weeks ago and nobody noticed In other news, Di Marzio claims we offered cash + Richarlison for Alexander Isak, no doubt hoping to tempt him with the lure of actually playing European football next season...although Richy has said this rumour is fake
Alasdair Gold has written a piece highlighting the differences between Lange and Paratici The main one was Paratici had a direct line to journalists so if we were making a bid, the likes of Romano were well-informed and could keep up to date - while Lange keeps things quiet, with negotiations pretty much being done before anything gets out, hence some Villa signings such as Leon Bailey came practically out of the blue (and the same can be said for Werner with us, who was reportedly a Lange signing) In other words, this thread is going to be a little barren until it isn't
Alasdair Gold now on the Jacob Ramsey train, claiming the club believe he could move for £40-50m (though didn't say it's an obvious PSR raid over an effort to bump up the HG numbers) - though he also says we've likely given up on Eze, and reading between the lines it's because Palace would (understandably) not let both Eze and Olise leave in the same window, and if they did the second one to leave would involve a really, really big number being offered TBH I'd take Ramsey over Gallagher any day of the month - but would still be annoyed about sleepwalking past Wharton
Thought Eze had a release clause? If so then Palace are powerless to stop him leaving. Signing Ramsey shouldn’t affect signing Eze for several reasons
