He played really well in the games against Villa and City at a time when we were missing half the team. Scored in both games - really well taken goals too. The only other game that springs to mind was at the end of the year against Bmouth where he played well and got a few crucial assists iirc. But the bar is sadly very, very low, so 'flourish' is relative.
With Lo Celso the talent and drive are there, it's just you're more likely to find them in the treatment room than the training pitch With Ndombele the talent's there (even if it is under some rolls of flab) but the drive just doesn't exist
I don't follow overseas football so have no I never know what to think when we sign players from other leagues. I was there on his home debut when he scored against Villa and thought maybe we'd got a good signing Was very unhappy about the signing of Sessengon as I thought he was poor in the Premier league for fulham
At least you're not so far heavily linked to James Trafford, Lloyd Kelly, Connor Coady and Calvert Lewin bro.
No but we have already re-signed Timo Werner on loan and continue to be linked with Conor Gallagher. Maybe it's a theme this summer for all clubs to pursue mediocrity for a bit of banter.
I'm beginning to like you guys more and more... I've begun to realise that despite you being the Sunderland of London that we share similar difficulties.
Nice compliment that, means we're the biggest club in London just like they're the biggest in the North East Though we could quite easily change our motto from "Audere est Facere" to just "Oh For ****'s Sake". It's generally what most of us say nowadays so seems apt.
Ahh the great Jermaine Jenas! A player that couldn't handle the pressure of playing at Newcastle, so he joined Tottenham. If you'd avoided him you might have won something! You'll not win anything with players with hearts the size of a goldfish.
We did actually win something with him! . He played well in the final and was MOTM in the semi final. His best games for Spurs were actually in the NLD, **** for 36 games a season but always turned up against Arsenal.
I don't think I've been this unexcited about a transfer since we signed Marlon Harewood https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1799915330459877639?t=APfgqqLmD5Ks7c_JeMe7Pw&s=19
I can see the reasoning, given he's a workrate monster who also ticks the HG box, but so was Michael Brown and he didn't come with a £50m asking price ...wait, has anyone called him a nuclear powered Harry Winks yet?
Good competition for Pope. Gives Toon 2 keepers who can battle for the number one spot. What’s not to like?
