It was a really poorly chosen destination though, probably born of desperation as no one came in for him in a permanent deal. He was never going to be first choice, meanwhile the entire club is a mess and under intense scrutiny - especially in defence. I never expected him to impress there. We need to try to find him a much more sensible loan if selling him isn't possible.
The thing is he did actually impress when he had a run of games - indeed Man Utd's form slumped when he was dropped in favour of Dalot
When he left we had Davies, Perisic and possibly Sessegnon to cover LB. None of those have been available recently so Reguilon might be the best cover we can get.
Luka Vuskovic is reportedly going to be loaned to a Dutch club to accelerate his development I think this counts as transfer news for us, right...?
I still think he won’t be kept around. Davies can cover LB once the new CB (Dragusin) is signed in the next week or so. Sessegnon is apparently nearing fitness isn’t he?
Take it up with the Manchester Evening News https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...s/manchester-united-ten-hag-reguilon-27772515
Didn’t play much for them (except when he was the only option because of injuries) and they sent him back pretty much as soon as they could. That’s not impressive.
Compare that to Danjuma: loaned in to cover for Bryan Gil's outgoing loan, and didn't play even when there was an opening due to injures/suspensions/players form being in the toilet/players carrying injuries which had plenty to do with their form being in the toilet
That's more down to Conte being irrationally stubborn and flat out refusing to play anyone who wasn't 'his' signing.
Worth a watch this. Detailed breakdown of how the window might look. Any complaining about why Levy doesn't just "up the offer" could do with watching.
Dragusin Watch First of all, have I mentioned that I am really starting to hate his agent? So we have Romano saying Dragusin has agreed personal terms with us, while Di Marzio has mentioned that he is keen to move to the PL...and then his agent pops up saying he wants to remain with Genoa and we should come back in the summer, and by the way there's Saudi interest And no, his agent is not a relative, in case you just got Rabiot flashbacks Exodus Watch Hajduk Split sporting director Mindaugas Nikolicius has confirmed there is a dialogue between them and us over Ivan Perisic for a potential move before the Croatian window shuts in February
Lots of positive online comments about Reguilon from United fans. Personally I would like him to be given another chance under Ange. Think there's a player in there who could fit the system and it's surely worth a punt so that we can focus on the CB role and other needed positions.
Unpopular opinion but I think Sessegnon has a higher ceiling than Reggie and he’s home grown. Obviously the big issue is he’s never fit!
I’m inclined to agree. But regardless of basic footballing ability his injury issues have massively derailed his progress and he just looked so timid every time he touched the ball last time I saw him play. I think he’s done. Shame he’s never been able to keep fit because he definitely had a lot of potential. A footballer’s number 1 attribute is availability at the end of the day.
"Reguilon's better than Sessegnon" (Which is the correct statement btw). "No Sessegnon's better than Reguilon". Ben Davies watching the debates knowing he starts whenever Udogie doesn't: please log in to view this image Though it's worth pointing out that Davies', Reguilon's and Sessegnon's contracts all expire in 2025.
Speaking of contracts, I've just looked at all of those who expire in the summer and then in 25's summer, are there any players that people would hope the club renews? There's a pretty obvious one amongst the ranks, lol. 24: Dier, Perisic and Austin. 25: Son, Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, Davies, Reguilon, Sessegnon, Forster and Whiteman. Alternatively, here's a list of generally well known players outside of Spurs whose contracts expire in the summer, some of these may or may not have options to extend by their club (and there's an obvious one we'd have no chance of signing, lol) but assuming for a second they don't, are there any in particular you'd like the club to target? FWIW, approaches can be made now to sign them on a free in the summer. Mbappe, Rabiot, Zielinski, Hermoso, Ndidi, Kelly, Meret, Kroos, Adarabioyo, Taremi, Ben Yedder, Felipe Anderson, Thiago, Modric, Casteels, Batshuayi, Spinazzola, Sebastien Caceres, Reus.
