20-****ing-25! Geez - the ice caps will have melted or we'll be hit by an asteroid by then so we'll never see his debut!

 

Apparently the fee for Vuskovic is £12m. Which makes the most expensive defender in history for his age.

Ideally by the time he arrives he’ll have about 50 first team games behind him at just 18 years of age.

Could be a very smart buy if his potential can be reached.

 

Perhaps I'll live to see him in a Spurs starting XI for a competitive game.

It's a peculiar transfer. Have we ever done this before, essentially bought a player but on a delayed arrival without it being a loan back for X amount of time?

Can't think of any other clubs doing this either.

The main thing that's mad to get our heads around is the fact we've signed Vuskovic to a seven-year contract, meaning we're paying his wages at Hajduk Split for two years (not sure how this ties in to the whispers of Perisic being used as a makeweight in the deal which were going around, though...)

 

Is that true about the wages? Or is it more of an agreement to officially register him in 2025 but have it locked in with papers signed now.

 

Considering he signed a contract with us that started yesterday, there's got to be some sort of arrangement over his wages for the next couple of years

 

I doubt we’re paying his wages yet as we can’t officially register players that are u18 from abroad, hence why the deal is that he joins in 2025 and isn’t a buy and loan back. Though I’d imagine there’s been a few brown envelopes thrown his way for the next 18 months or so.
