Perhaps the most damning indictment is the fact that when all is said and done, he is probably only 6th or 7th in the List of Players to Ditch (behind Sanchez, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Dier and Richarlison). Now that is a depressing thought.
One thing to point out: the money saved on Deki and Vicario is almost exactly the fee for van der Ven Also, with Hincapie currently injured, Leverkusen would absolutely be jacking up the price for Tapsoba
Vicario in, Maddison soon to be in and Micky van de Ven talks beginning (would prefer Tapsoba but like what I've heard of Micky too), liking this start to the window so far, that's all three key positions in the XI set to be sorted, with then the squad upgrades plus outgoings to work on. Vicario Porro, Romero, van der Ven, Udogie Bentancur Kulu, Bissouma, Maddison, Son Kane Inject that ****, bruh. That's one tasty attacking line up and I don't care if it's too attacking, we've been too defensive for far too long, rather lose 4-3 and than 3-0. Ange's BBQ in full swing.
Controversial opinion, but if the offer is generous I'd take it and run. Don't get me wrong he's a good player but a total liability who is also quite injury prone and yet another who clearly values playing for his country above his club. A deal involving Bremer moving in the opposite direction would be intriguing imo.
Too often the red mist descends and as you said he picks up a knock before an international tournament but make a remarkable recovery in time for the game It would need to be a very good offer though
Juventus have no money and they've been booted out of Europe. They can swap him for Bremer and Chiesa and we'll throw Sanchez in as a bonus.
Counter point: Juve have no money, could’ve kept hold of him but didn't, and anyone who believes he prioritises international games over club games simply doesn't recognise the value of facts considering he was playing while carrying an injury for a sizeable chunk of last season
Dier likely to stay next season according to Charlie Eccleshare. We were having such a nice day as well.
Great start to the transfer window. Kulu for a bargain fee, Vicario is an unknown to the Premier league but if he adapts he looks to have superb ability and mentality. Maddison is a fantastic signing as we all know. Just need two LCB's - Tapsoba or Van Der Ven and maybe someone like Tosin. Finally it's looking likely we will sign Solomon on a free, Fast, tricky explosive winger who can cover for Sonny. Winks getting a great move to Leicester, Hugo and Peresic very likely leaving and hopefully we can shift out Sanchez, Rodon, Tanganga, Sessegnon, Reguilon, Lo Celso and N'Dombele. Still think Gil could be a star but unlikely in the Prem. Can't wait to see Udogie, think he looks a player and hopefully Spence gets a chance to compete with Emerson at RB and Porro could push up to RW to compete with Kulu. Exciting times.
Let's see if I've got this straight: various Spanish sources say we're in negotiations to bring in Lenglet, but various British sources say we're not looking to bring him in So that's our Deadline Day depth signing sorted, then...?
Bloody hell. One more year of potato head. I'm ok with him staying too, as long as his duties don't extend beyond giving the bibs out at training.
I’ve definitely tinkered with the idea myself over recent months but I think Ange and Romero could be a perfect match. He’s got the pace, aggression and technique to play in a high line and whilst he’s pissed me off a number of times with his poor and rash judgement, playing alongside the likes of Dier, Sanchez, Emerson and Sessegnon in a backline along with a declining Lloris must be horrifying and no help to a player’s form and development.
The only hope is that he doesn’t get off the bench whilst he watches Tapsoba/ van de Ven/ Romero actually defend.
He didn't seem to make these mistakes playing with ****ing Otamendi, though. I doubt that signing would go down too well.
If you put Romero next to a Ledders-like CB, basically somebody who can read the game so doesn't need to commit, they would compliment each other perfectly The issue is that, by playing as the RCB in Conte's system, that was placing him in situations where he would need to commit by design - and that happened more and more when our midfield lost control of games once Bentancur went down with injury and was exacerbated by Porro routinely being miles up the pitch (which does beg the question why Conte never seemed to consider Romero as a libero CCB and Dier in the Skriniar/Cahill role of his system, as on paper that always seemed like such a no-brainer) This is also why I am hoping the links with Roger Ibanez are based more on speculation than anything else, as Ibanez is both a walking yellow card and also plays pretty much as Romero does but at LCB
