I called this as a strong possibility months ago. Alphonso Davies + Jamal Musiala + £70m or they can feck off.
Ornstein says Bayern have submitted an offer for Kane. €70m with addons. Charlie Eccleshare says it’ll be immediately rejected.
It beggars belief that anyone would shell out £60m to have Mason Mount in their squad for an extra year. It's actually quite hard to see how Harry Kane can be worth £100m plus his salary for one season. By inference he could ask for the entire amount to be added to his salary if he leaves next year.
I suppose it's that testing the water type of bid. Probably to see if Kane is willing to try and push it as well. Some German media reckon personal terms have already been agreed so now Bayern have the hard part left to do. I think deep down they know they won't get him for less than £100m though so it's on them to match our asking price. I'll be devastated to see him go more than any other player in the past but a move to Bayern (or Madrid) is the least painful exit, albeit still bloody painful. He's earnt such a move too and I'm confident he'd smash it. Depending on how long he'd stay there as well, there'd potentially be the possibility of a Spurs return down the line to finish off chasing Shearer's record.
Bayern remind me of Ferguson-era Man Utd. Incredibly arrogant and happy to throw their weight around with no fear of repercussions. Their fanbase is equally entitled, too. I'd love to see them taken down a few pegs.
What makes you say this? Genuine question, as I've never really interacted with many Bayern fans before.
Reading any of the online feedback about Kane and football in general. I'm sure some of the **** they were singing a couple of weeks ago is part of it, too. They were gloating so hard at Dortmund before they even ****ed it up. They also have lots of glory hunters, which makes for ****ty fans, in my experience. I suspect there's a BMTV Youtube channel...
Just for the sake of argument, let's say that Bayern stump up the money and Kane leaves. Who would you replace him with, realistically? I'd consider chucking the cash at Portugal and bringing in a couple of strikers from there. Mehdi Teremi of Porto for right now and Goncalo Ramos of Benfica going forward. Both coming off the back of good seasons, though they'd both be a risk.
Munich will know that not being a domestic rival to nor having previous with Spurs, means they would not face a vicious Levying with the dial turned up to 11. Correspondingly, I cannot see any significant "add-on" that could be triggered (for reference it would be useful to know what Madrid had to pay out during the Modric and Bale era) .
It's a massive dilemma as no established names will join us without CL football unless we throw stupid money at them, which in the long run is a disaster waiting to happen if it doesn't work out for them as they become impossible to shift, while other players will demand parity. Evan Ferguson and Jonathan David have really caught my eye. I'd ideally want someone PL proven as we'd need them to hit the ground running.

Hopefully that's all true. It'd be great knowing Ange genuinely wanted him and if the boy can speak English that's always a good starting point for any foreign import. Here's just hoping he's more Donnarumma/ Buffon than Gollini.
I hope it is. I like that Ange tries to use his own story to build some inspiration and excitement and drive. It’s a compelling story, his is, and having buy-in for the rebuild to come is going to be so important for the squad. Let’s hope he can walk the walk as well as he talks the talk.
I genuinely don't know. Whoever we get would obviously be nowhere near as good but I guess it depends on if we want a "B-tech Kane" or go down a different style of striker route. Watkins/ Toney/ Vlahovic would be sort of Kane-esque strikers who could try and fill his role but to a lesser extent. Osimhen would be the different style but also the most exciting player to replace him, albeit that's never happening. I wouldn't be completely surprised if the club just signed a top prospect and maybe an all-round forward who can play across the front three and go with a Kulu-Richarlison-Son trio as it's first choice. The club will want to (try and) get its money's worth out of the Brazilian, not that I think they ever will.
