Fabrizio Romano's linked us to Monster Energy Dusseldorf CB Mohamed Simakan

Certainly seems like a good option for cover at RCB...but he's contracted until 2026 so would cost a ****ing fortune. So, how much do we value moving on Sanchez in the summer?

Yeah I’m not fussed about age but would be unlike the club to pay a big fee for someone who wouldn’t have a sell on value

    I don’t think £13 mill is much

I’m more concerned about who wants this player

    Conte or the club

Bryan Gil and Pape Matar Sarr are better examples of club signings

Especially Sarr, given his lack of any playing time

I thought they wanted a lot for him than that.

Surely it must be Conte who wants him, he’s not a long term ‘project’ like Gil, Spence or Sarr as he’s too old for that.

He's only got six months on his contract, so Paratici holds the cards

James Maddison's coming back onto the boil

And then, all of a sudden, the sudden uptick in Malinovskyi rumours becomes a little bit clearer...

Record (the Portuguese one, not the Scottish one) claim we're considering a January move for Marcus Edwards

Does he count as club trained or did he leave too soon?

Would we get him at a 40% discount price due to sell on clause in his contract?

cant see him coming back though to risk getting screwed over again with game time when he’s playing week in week out in Portugal

He was with the club since he was 8, so he's CG

Not a Conte type player at all, Antonio won't entertain playing Gil in the league and whilst Edwards maybe slightly ahead of him in his development he is very similar in many ways, so I don't think this has any legs.

Lucas is expected to leave next summer, so it makes sense to get Edwards in place so we have options

It also has to be said that Edwards has bulked way up since we loaned him to Sparta Rotterdam and is stockier than Bryan Gil these days, and that probably does put him into contention given Conteball does require players to be able to bounce defenders off them (which is surely counting against Sarr right now, as I'm not exaggerating when I say Harvey White and Alfie Devine are stockier than he is)

Be great to have Edwards back but not a chance he’ll join.

He’ll be in the Prem or somewhere like Spain/ Germany soon though, probably the summer I’d imagine and we should make a decent penny from it, as Sporting will likely value him at around £40m+.

Spurs aren’t Man City or Chelsea so have to spend sensibly and prioritise.

Need to be spending money on the defence first instead of attack. 2 CB and a RWB/RB surely have to be the priority, then I’d prefer a centre midfielder with a bit of guile signed over another wide player.

If the theory that our retreat into catenaccio is based entirely on Deki and Richarlison being out, having another option in the final third is important as it stops our mindset from overcompensating for the lack of options up top by trying to grind out results if we can play a front three without compromising

Pretty crap for Bryan, who has shown some delightful chaos off the bench which is more than Lucas has done in eighteen months, but if Conte can think we can play the same system with the personnel changed that's important - and stops Skippy being deployed as a RW when we play 352

Rudy Galetti says Emerson is Juve’s top target…

    … for the summer.

It’s like glee and devastation rolled into one hit.

Football BSider linking us with Stefan de Vrij

Obvious link, but with six months on his contract he's an obvious choice if we're looking to bring in a CCB...although looking at his agent, maybe not 100% guaranteed
