Kion Etete? While a Spurs fan of over 60 years Cardiff are my home club. Cardiff need 2 new no. 9's and there is a rumour here that we will stump up some cash to get Etete. I see from Wiki he has not played any first team Spurs games but went out on loan to Northampton and Cheltenham where he played a few games scoring goals in the process. At 6ft 6ins he is a big unit and at 20 fits Cardiff's aims of getting younger players to develop and add value while knocking in a few goals in the process. Anyone know anything else, have any views and what sort of fee would Spurs want? Cheers guys.
I quite like Etete but I think we need to acknowledge that with Parrott and Scarlett in front of him in the pecking order, plus the high hopes for Donley too, Etete’s likely gonna struggle to ever make an impact here. Physically he’ll handle the Championship with ease, he’ll handle just about any league from a physical aspect, it’s just whether he’ll have the quality right now to impact with goals/ assists. Personally I’d have said another move to a League One team at the top end would’ve been more beneficial but if Cardiff want him and on a permanent deal it could be a good move for all parties. Only got a year left on his deal so I’d imagine we’d ask for something around £300k-£500k but with a reasonably high sell on clause, probably around 30-35%.
Does look like it’s gonna go through today, mate. £500k plus add-ons and sounds like we’re inserting a buy back option, so I weren’t too far off, lol. Hopefully it works out well for him.
I like the buy back, could be a bit like Kieffer Moore. Buy him back after a couple of seasons and then sell him to a lower premier league side for a significant profit.

Yeah that’d be great, shouldn’t rule out that if he does well there’s no reason we wouldn’t bring him back to be a squad player here either. We had/ have a really good pool of young strikers, you’d like to think that at least one of Scarlett, Parrott, Donley and Etete (if brought back) can go on to become a Premier League striker in some capacity.
