As I've said before ,I'm no student of foreign leagues but perisic has stood out to me when on international duty , anyone that can improve our dead ball delivery will get my vote at the moment , fed up seeing the free kicks blast into the wall or corners hitting the first man , Bale last year gave us a brief glimpse of what we have been missing since he left the 1st time
No difference to if Bale returns. You are paying for some short-term experience (2 yr contract) together with the "big game" ability to change a game.. If Perisic signs, at the minimum I expect him to be in the starting XI for all CL group stage games (Spurs have to put in an effort akin to 2019 at the least) .
I’d expect and hope he starts most Prem and CL games to be honest. The beauty next season is that we can use 5 subs in the league along with continuing to do so in Europe. In Conte’s system I’d imagine we’re asking the most from our WBs and CMs in terms of ground covered. With that in mind, ideally have Perisic starting most games with Sessegnon ready to come on later in the game if need be. Should allow Perisic to not get overly burnt out at his age and still provide Sess with adequate game time in the hope he improves, similar for our other flank with whoever our potential new RWB will be. Then have the choice of Bentancur, Skipp, Hojbjerg and a new CM (Eriksen!) rotating in those two spots. Then the final sub can be used on a forward position, whether that be replacing Son or Kulu out wide or a striker to come on for Kane, or possibly replacing a CB if we’re chasing a goal.
Bit of journo wars going on. Dan KP and Ally Gold seem to think Perisic will sign a deal around £100k a week. Whereas Mike McGrath reckons it’s around £180k. Before any figures were mentioned, I’d have guessed around £150k because good quality free transfers generally get huge wages due to the club not having to fork out large transfer fees, plus this is likely to be Perisic’s last big contract in Europe I’d say so I’d be inclined to believe McGrath over the others, which feels weird considering the others are practically Spurs mouthpieces.
It could be some strange mixture of the two, where one is pre-tax or with bonuses and the other isn't.
The Italian teams play at a slower pace though so I personally wonder how he will fare with the faster pace in the PL.
Kulu has given you the answer to this, If you position yourself sensibly to make/receive passes, then the 90mph stuff going on elsewhere on the pitch becomes moot.
Everton, Fulham, Southampton and…. Sevilla are interested in Winks. Go get that Spanish sun, paella and sangria mi hermano!
But Kulu is only 21. Don’t get me wrong. I think perisic would be a great signing and will add a lot of experience to the team.
IMHO Kulu could play his game whether 21 or 31, as it does not seem to be based on being a speedboat nor having the stamina associated with MF workhorses. if a Perisic could have similar returns as Kulu had this season, as well as being an experienced "old hand" for the CL foray, that would be great.
Now now now, we all know the drill: Until he's at Hotspur Way wearing a Spurs shirt, he's a Chelsea player.
