Christian Martin is also claiming we’re in for Dybala. According to Daily Hotspur (via elsewhere), he’s supposedly top tier for Argentinian news.
The cursory blurb is that Dybala has been speaking to at least them lot and Spurs (a "no brainer" given either of them is likely to be in the CL next season) .
Best bet is to break him for spare parts which is what I would do with classic car that's seen better days
The Telegraph are linking us with John McGinn from Villa. Can't see it, to be honest. He's a very good player and I think he's underrated, but I think he'd be very expensive. 28 later this year, 3 years left on his contract after the summer and a key player for them.
Hull City have agreed a deal to sign Adama Traore. Not that one. Not that one, either. The other one.
There are six Adama Traores who are footballers with Wikipedia entries. Three Malians, two Ivorians and the Spanish one that we're all most familiar with.
A lot of Dybala chatter on Twitter again today. I just don’t see it myself. I think his injury record is concerning and if we wanted a player to be able to flex into a 352, Eriksen would surely be a first port of call to pick up as a 10 option, also on a free.
I think Eriksen on a free is the perfect signing as a 10 if that’s a position we want to get someone in so we can play with a dedicated 10 as an option. Knows the club and the manager and many of the players, won’t cost a bomb in terms of wages. I’d feel a bit bad for Brentford as they’ve given him a route back to elite football but I guess ultimately it’ll be down to the player. Having the option to play a 352 with a 10 will likely help us when we’re up against teams who sit deep, we can get some more creation in and around the box when space and time are tight. Eriksen also has a good record scoring from outside the box for us so that’s another threat against a parked bus. I still think in general we need to find better balance in the pivot, whether that’s in 343 or 352. I think 1st choice of the players now would be Bentancur and Skipp but I’m sure we’ll look to add competition especially as we’ll be looking to offload Gio and Tanguy permanently (or at least loan them again) and Winks may well leave. We probably need a couple in there. Ultimately I think our main issue (aside from depth) is not having an option to start with a team which is more creative when we expect to dominate the ball against sides. Having Eriksen means we can play his as an 8 or a 10 in a 352 or even drop him into the pivot in a 343 if we felt the game was manageable enough. Sorting the WB situation will also help because we often don’t have the balance down the flanks to stretch the games. Lots of work to do, in other words.
Here is a claim, but I'll now cover my arse so I look like less of a twat if I'm wrong. This is my job.
