You utter utter utter heartless git I have been coughing my lungs up for 3 days solid...I sound like a 60 a day 90 Yr old ... so for the love of God STOP MAKING ME LAUGH YOU GODDAM MOFO
Quite surprised not to have seen an avalanche of SM content about Dele moving on. When Lamela and Eriksen left, Harry Kane for example was straight on to wish them well. Maybe it'll come later?
There have been rumours that all has not been well between certain players behind the scenes for a while now. Started with Trippier's interview and then Dele's spat with Dier after the Wolves defeat looked like it had been brewing for a while. Those two used to be inseparable but their relationship hasn't been the same for years. Trippier hinted that the CL defeat basically broke the team spirit that was our hallmark for so many years and I do wonder if that is true and if Dele and his moping around was one of the main contributors to it.
So sad. If only he could have at least maintained a baseline performance level season in season out, like Kane and Son do, he would still be a Spurs player.
Feel reasonably content with what we've done in the January transfer window a 7/10 for Me. Happy with the two Juve boys and I especially like the cut of Kulusevski's Jib. Looks like he has the required mentality and attitude to be a success under Conte. Bentacur is a proven winner at Juve with three league titles. Combative, elegant on the ball and is quite press resistant. Gutted we didn't get a top RWB, Emerson is a RB not a RWB and Doherty let's face it, isn't really either just a poor technical player. Sad to see Dele go, such a precocious talent a few years ago, had it all but has severely stagnated and its the right move for both parties. N'Dombele and Lo Celso - good riddance, let's hope they do OK for their new clubs so we can at least get a bit of money for them in the summer to boost the coffers. Gil I still have high hopes for, would have preferred an English loan but I'm sure he will continue his development at Valencia. He really needs to build on his strength though . Although Pape Sarr hasn't done much at Metz this season he is a wonderful talent who most of Europe were coveting and we have him in the summer as an extra option in midfield. Sorry to already be talking about the next transfer window but we need to get these 4 players in early in the summer - Gk - Gollini although well liked in the dressing room dosent look to be top quality. Think Johnstone on a free from WBA would be a good purchase. LCB - Badly needed to rotate with Davies. Rodon to leave to make space. RWB - Lamptey or Dest please. Doherty out of the door. CF - Dream signing would be another Juve boy - Dybala, a real marquee signing.
I'm more pleased with the outgoings than the incomings. But very disappointed 3 of those outgoings are likely to return!
Agreed and it showed with performances. We’ve played like an unhappy team for far too long. By shifting out the three potentially bad eggs, along with bringing in a couple of players who hopefully fit Conte’s profile, there should be a better atmosphere around the place and that should show on the pitch too. There’s already been noticeable improvements in many games since Conte came in and now with essentially a fresh start in Feb, I’m optimistic we can have a solid second half of the season providing Kane or any other key player doesn’t get any significant injury.
I think you have to be pleased with alli going for what he did. You imagine alli will get the 20 games for 10m and if hes any good you will get a lot more. If hes still **** then you wouldnt have got a decent fee anyway and hed be rotting on your bench collecting some handsome wages
In terms of loans, honestly I think we loaned out one first player too few, as Rodon simply needs playing time as he's been starved of it this season (and if loaning him to Brighton greased the wheels for Lamptey in the summer...) while Tanganga probably could do with a run of games somewhere else to get the clangers out of his system that have blighted his appearances since Conte arrived Considering we've had Maksim Paskotsi on the bench a couple of times in the past month, while Tobi Omole is also still at the club, there would've been options to cover one of them being loaned out
1/10 for me. Not judging the new players, as I've not seen enough of them to have an opinion. Didn't strengthen where we needed to, didn't get any money for shifting out players and we're down in numbers, too. Still no attempt to address the homegrown issue and our midfield has about as much creativity as a stone.
Joan Laporta reckons Ousmane Dembele has an agreement with another club and it’s why he didn’t leave in Jan. Says it don’t make sense for the player or club. It absolutely makes sense for the player, the man’s gonna pick up a ridiculous signing on fee and insane wages, lol. I reckon it could be PSG or Chelsea.
Newcastle target and Dutch defender Sven Botman, 22, says that he is "fine" at Lille but expects to leave during the summer. (Ziggo Sport via Newcastle Chronicle) Feel as though we should be all over this is he any good?
I wouldn't disagree with any of those concerns...but, for me, the main one remains...Where's the money to do the business that makes sense of the appointment of Conte? It's pretty apparent that the disposals of Dele, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Doherty and Rodon, plus profit on income, aren't going to raise the funds that we need to build a competitive squad. Even if you chucked in the proceeds of sale from Gil, Emerson Royal, Sessegnon, Winks, Bergwijn and Lucas, you'd just be creating more holes to fill...more deals to do...and more transfer funds to find. Either additional money comes into the club, to put right the errors of the last 5 years, or we're wasting everyone's time and money.
According to reports (see ex spur thread) we won't, Sporting have just taken over the commitment. Let's hope his next move is big!
We were linked with him under the ubermensch and he was certainly the sort of CB we needed under him as he's big, physical, and good in the air Under Conte though? Tougher to say: he could certainly be used in the Cahill/Skriniar role that Sanchez is used in, although I'm not convinced he's got the pace to maintain the same line as Dier and Romero consistently - but he's certainly less brainfarty than Sanchez
