There are Spurs players who : 1. were far from the greatest (see above) , but at least put in a shift to the best of their ability 2. came with great expectations (Rebrov, Pav, Soldado etc) , did not cut it in the PL for whatever reasons, but tried their best to help move the club forward 3. were far from their prime (Gallas, VDV etc) , but did not succumb to any ego diva antics and thus moved the club forward GLC and NDombele have none of the above applicable to them. The only good that may endure from them is that the club gets so much better in its signing policy that their like never get to the point where they can wear a Spurs shirt in anger.
And this is the problem with football fans: a goal or assist or a flash bit of skill takes a second, but a football match is a minimum of 5400 seconds and this is where Ndombele fails worse than anyone not named Gilberto, because he's not doing anything in those 5399 seconds - literally in a lot of cases Lo Celso actually linked up our play and actually looked like he gave a damn about playing a match when he didn't have the ball, but that goes over fans' heads because you can't put that on a highlight reel - and the thing about highlight reels is any player can be on one no matter how ****e they are, for example it's probably really easy to make a highlight reel for Barren Dent yet he was probably the biggest passenger in Spurs games I've ever seen, and that's including the match where Gomes tore his groin yet we didn't sub him off even though Assou-Ekotto was having to take goal kicks for him
I rated Malbranque, always seem to pop up with a goal when we needed one. Didn't Atouba once score a 30 yard rocket?
Gotta feeling you watched Lo Celso for Argentina more than you did for Tottenham. Because that definitely wasn't the player we saw in a Spurs shirt. Lo Celso's highlights can be found here: https://twitter.com/stopthatglc?lang=en-GB
Was Malbranque not rated by anyone? He was quite popular down at WHL and I rarely saw anyone saying he was a bad player. Always grafted and came up with some nice moments.
Gil's been spotted in Valencia ahead of his loan move. Still no concrete rumours involving Dele. I still think he'll go at the last minute but it's damning that so far no club seems genuinely determined to get him.
I don't think he really cares. If he invests wisely, he's already set for life and can enjoy the rest of his salad days.
Paul O'Keefe has just posted on twitter that unless a miracle happens we are done with incomings. Gutted if true, we really need at least one more in. Especially a RWB.
Pretty sure no jury on earth would accept that account's testimony For another example of placing highlights above everything else, look at how a few weeks ago the hive mind decided at one that Hojbjerg was now ****e because of his lack of end product, or earlier in the season where Skippy was getting the same thing, all because neither of them do a flash bit of skill once a game as if that makes up for the minor detail of them doing sod all else
Pretty sure he removed his name from a lot of scouting list when he started going Laurence Fox a year or so ago So if there's an outbreak of omicron at Turf Moor, we'll know why...
You can’t compare Lo Celso to Skipp or even Hojbjerg. He’s useless and doesn’t give the same effort for Spurs as he does for Argentina.
No. We'll probably announce the two Juventus lads and then be linked with a late lunacy that doesn't happen.
