Don't we already have another midfielder whose name I don't remember but we lent him straight back to the club we bought him from?

To be fair, you have this wrong, costa was the focal point, hazard and pedro (in first year) and willian (second year) were played on the wings/inside forwards so it wasnt 2 up top with one in behind. However that was 5 years ago and since then i believe Conte went 3-5-2 at inter (but i didnt watch them play) which in this case would work

I don't think Conte really has a say else i'm sure he would have signed someone by now. He's made noises he isn't too pleased at the lack of activity and that he's only the "coach"

He's 19 and likely to be about as PL ready as Bryan Gil...

You've read my post wrong, lol.

I never said two up top, I said Hazard plus Willian/ Pedro behind Costa.

Yeah I think he’ll probably need another loan unless he smashes preseason. Gil needs a loan too tbh, need that kid playing.

If the club want him then surely there is enough time left to get him.

Yeah he would definitely be an exciting signing and it would be nice if a big money signing finally lived up to the hype instead of being a wage drain like the recent ones have been

well in any case, willian pedro and hazard could all run with the ball and dribble past a man and were speedy and liked to make forward runs (okay i lie about willian). I think coutinho who is quality doesn't really possess the running in behind and likes to dictate from the middle and is pretty slow although skillful and prefers late runs. I would say he's pretty different to all 3

Think we'll loan Gil this window. I'd rather it be in the Prem but if not, back to Spain makes sense as the next best option.

Agree on Sarr, almost certain to go on loan against next season.

Both of these were signed with the long term future in mind, just gotta make sure they're getting minutes now and for the immediate future, whether it be here or elsewhere.

I think Gil's heading off to Spain in the next week and I don't see him coming back...at least while Conte's manager...if at all.

CM, although Metz are playing him as an AM and LW at times due to being a slow motion car crash this season

I think Conte actually likes him but obviously not as a starter yet, he's featured off the bench a few times over more experienced players and started in some of the cups. He was always going to be a long term investment though and not a quick fix, it's likely Gil won't be a solidified first team player until around 2023/24, likewise Sarr - and I'm okay with that. Long term planning is always welcomed for me so long as we sort the immediate out, the latter is what needs to be done this window and the summer.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was true of every Man City midfielder as well. No idea how to check. Good players rarely have to make tackles.

This (hopefully) gives a better picture, even if it's fair to assume Gabon are no great shakes

Certainly similar to Brozovic in those clips

The obvious question is where Skipp or Hojbjer play alongside him
