No, it isn't. Ajax will not be rinsing Spurs on a transfer fee like get Real Madrid got done for Bale.
It's an interesting question. In a way it's a blessing in disguise Rose is injured until after the window has shut, so we can avoid the sort of theatrics seen from Sanchez, Coutinho, Van Dick and Dembele. He can moan and sulk as much as he likes but he can't go on strike and refuse to play. The clearest differences is that £35m is an eye-watering sum of money for any Dutch team and would set a new Erdevise record. An equally eye watering fee for Rose would be in excess of £60m if not £70m and frankly i can't see anyone bidding that for him. The other major difference is that Ajax wouldn't be selling to a direct rival whereas we would, and would therefore come across as far more reasonable were we to tell Rose to sit down and shut up.
Wouldn't £50m do it though? It was enough for Walker. I reckon we'll have a couple of non-google signings by then though, so Danny will be contempt enough.
Not at this stage of the window. To my mind, Poch has always rated Rose more than Walker. I think Rose overall is the better player and gives more of what Poch wants from a WB due to a surprisingly good end product. I actually believe Poch when he said that the player remains part of his plans. I think the car crash interview caught him and everyone else by surprise and part of the reason behind his fairly muted reaction was simply not knowing what else to do or say. However, cross Poch and you're gone sooner rather than later. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of Davies this season than usual, and that Danny will be sold next summer.
I hope that's the case. We can't afford to lose anymore pace from our team in this window. We need some additions as it is, let alone losing Walker and then Rose.
Absolutely. When Poch said Rose remains in his plans, he was talking about this season. It will be impossible for us to sign a CB, RB, CM, AM and then a new first choice LB on top of all of that with 2 weeks left of the window, another reason why the timing of the moronic interview was so incredibly stupid. It expressed numerous qualms but gave the club no time to address them.
At least it looks like were going to get some activity now at long last. Poch seemed very confident that we will be signing players this week and next week.
Absolutely. I thought you weren't hopeful about transfers CK? Now a CB, RB, CM and AM? And the goalkeeper?
I didn't say we'd actually sign any of them, just that we'd negotiate for them only for them to collapse on the 31st because Levy refused to cough up the extra £2.75 they wanted.
Quite right too. That money buys two packs of Hobnobs for the players HT snack. Withdrawing the above is precisely the kind of thing that has players questioning what they are worth ...
Paulinho completes his move to Barca for just shy of £40m. Using this as a point of reference, we can safely say that Dele Alli would cost the GDP of China.
