In fairness most of the Vinicius goals came in the UEFA Cup and against lower league teams in the domestic cups. Agree re Traore ... am disappointed we didn't go for Ings or Dimire Grey ybh
Sky saying £25.7m for Emerson. interesting if this one goes through. Tanganga has been the preferred choice at RB so far, so if we’re bringing in another, Aurier will certainly be gone. - but I wouldn’t be surprised if there ends up being a move from a PL club for Doherty tomorrow. Someone like Crystal Palace, or dare I say it…. even Arsenal. A simple move across London sort of deal, as we’ve previously seen with the likes of Parker, Dempsey and Dembele.
Be great if we could bin both Aurier and Doherty. Surely if Emerson does arrive, Doherty himself may try forcing/ seeking a move which would help. We all know too well how much a third choice RB plays, saw it for two years with KWP. No way will a 29 year old Ireland international want that level of involvement.
Ings definitely, especially at £25m, that's a "bargain" for a Prem proven striker who can guarantee you about 15-20 goals a season. Demarai Gray no way. He's even more inconsistent than Bergwijn and Lucas, last thing we need.
Nico Schira saying saying Emerson’s agreed personal terms. Di Marzio also saying we’ll complete a €30m deal.
Gray would've been useful for a couple of things i.) Topping up the HG numbers ii.) He could be flipped a year or two from now for a tidy profit, given Everton paid £1.7m for him That being said, the fact that Leverkusen were happy to dump him within six months of signing him isn't a good sign
Barca apparently lining up Hector Bellendrin as a replacement. Tbh i think we should do everything we can to keep him at Arsenal he's so bad.
Topping up HG numbers with poor players is worthless though. You're better off giving chances to academy players than buying players like that. No actual guarantee of getting a profit for him either. Barely made Leicester's squad last season prior to moving to Leverkusen and the fact they did indeed sell him for less than £2m just 6 months later doesn't bode well. He'd likely have a similar situation here as he did at Leicester and eventually once we put him up for sale we'd probably be lucky getting that £1.7m back.
I don't think Ings would've joined to be back-up and competition for Kane. He's been in that position at Liverpool and it didn't work for him.
Yeah he definitely wouldn't have joined as backup but there was talk Nuno wants/ wanted to play with two strikers. Not entirely sure how the formation would've gone but I'd imagine something like a 4231 with Kane sort of playing in Eriksen's old role but a lot more attack/ goal focused? His game seemingly involves him dropping deep now so maybe Nuno wanted someone to then lead the line and utilise Kane's playmaking ability along with knowing he'll still bang in a ton of goals?
He is their best right-back, though. Soares is poor, Maitland-Niles doesn't want to play there and Chambers is a mediocre centre-half.
reiss nelson looks like he’s leaving on loan. And there were rumours of Maitland Niles doing the same. They’re all abandoning the sinking ship!
The Torygraph claim that, if we don't get Emerson Royal, we'll go back for Tomiyasu Nobody has claimed we have installed a cannon at our training ground if that's what it takes to move on Aurier
We should be trying to shift Aurier and Doherty to sign both. Still too much deadwood at the club and a lack of balance in the squad.
Gianluca Di Marzio has noted that EPIC Sports are intermediaries in the deal to sign Emerson Royal Now here's a scenario that could play out... * EPIC Sports list Aurier as one of their clients on their website * If Barca sell Emerson to us, they will sign Hector Bellerin from Arsenal * All of a sudden Arsenal need a new RB, and guess who has one with Premier League experience who they are looking for offload? If we manage to sign Emerson and dump Aurier onto Arsenal, that could quite possibly break the world's gravitational pull
