Personally I think that the “ITK” term is dead and buried, and has become even more obvious over the last couple of transfer windows in particular. There’s literally a handful of journo’s who get legit info and you can generally rely on them to be right most of the time. They are the new “ITK’s, and the days of an attention/follower seeking Spurs fan spreading cryptic tweets are pretty much over, and should be completely ignored.
Yeah it’s finished. And agreed, even though journo’s are expected to know, there’s been a few over recent years who’ve really established themselves as very reliable and credible sources (Ally Gold, Dan KP, McGrath) along with the more renowned names like Romano. Your best mate, Lion, still goes on though chatting ****. Changed it from Epllion to Spurslion these days
The Mirror are claiming that Sissoko to Watford is a £10m deal. I assume that's mainly his wages and not a transfer fee. They're also suggesting that this signing will allow them to sell Will Hughes to Palace. Can we just swap them, please?
The ever reliable Mirror are saying Sissoko will have his medical today ahead of a £10m move. £10m is very decent for a 32 year old squad player.
About a month ago I went on a major blocking spree on Twitter as I was getting pissed off with all the nonsense showing in my “thfc” searches. Anyone that done the follow for follow ****, anyone that put stuff like “ratio” or “dub” got a block and then finally anyone with ITK, Insider or Source also got banished. No word of a lie, I think within that month I ended up blocking over 1500 accounts and it’s the best decision I’ve done. I still block a few now but the search feed is much better without a load of spackers clogging it up.
So there’s been more on Moriba, he’s apparently turned down Leipzig’s interest as he wants to join us BUT there does seem a stumbling block in that his agent/ dad is asking for a €15m bonus - which is probably why contract talks with Barca hit a snag. This is of course on top of paying a transfer fee to Barca which is rumoured to be around €20m. So either his dad reels his neck in a bit or it might cause the deal to collapse. Hope a solution can be found, he really is a very highly rated talent.
He does seem like exactly the kind of player we don't go for, but other clubs seem to find. Question. Would you rather Hughes over Moriba?
I don't know anything about Moriba, barring what I've read since we've been linked with him. I'm not really in a position to comment.
We haven’t actually been linked with Hughes, have we? It’s more just PNP and HBIC saying he’d have been a smart signing, unless I’ve missed something? If there was a choice though, I guess it depends on where your head’s at, whether you want a safe bet immediate impact who’s also HG or the potential of a top player but with patience needed? Pros and cons to both I’d say. I saw a tweet today say that assuming Sarr gets done (which I think an announcement is due soon) and we do also sign Moriba - and also assuming (lot of assumptions!) both hit their potential, then Spurs are very nicely set up for the long term. A midfield of Skipp, Sarr and Moriba, with Gil and Scarlett up top, possibly Bergwijn too seeing as he’s still young.
The one thing that worries me about Moriba is that he's demanding £100k a week right off the bat, which is patently ****ing absurd for somebody who has played the grand total of 672 minutes for Barca's first team For comparison's sake, Gio Dos Santos played 1730 minutes for Barca's first team, and his wages were between £10-20k On the subject of Moriba, I notice we're having another ITK fight over this...
I agree. I'm leaning the way of Moriba myself. Gil is looking like the Modric that we have missed watching for so long even though he plays more offensively. So refreshing to see that kind of energy, skill, intent and flair in a Spurs shirt. With Moriba and perhaps Mckennie or Kessie coming in, I see our solid CM gap being filled neatly. With all the options, it's beginning to look a lot like Tottenham again.
There's also the huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumungous red flag that is his father's backseating negotiations and clearly trying to play us and Monster Energy Dusseldorf against one another to get daddy's little soldier a massive payday compared to the £12k a week "pittance" Barca pay him, rather than Moriba's agent Considering Moriba is with the same agency as Roberto Firmino, Julian Draxler, Marcel Sabitzer, Thilo Kehrer, Josh King and Joelinton (also Max Meyer...) the whole situation makes Moriba either look like a mercenary twat, somebody running down his contract for a bumper payday when he leaves for nothing next summer, or a complete doofus who is talking themselves out of potential moves
Yeah I’m loving Gil already, I think he’s very David Silva-esque and if he becomes a fraction of the player that guy is we’ll have a real baller. The only things I’d say we’re lacking from the “old Tottenham” is a genuine creator and some HG purchases. We’re light in that regard and so far not a single signing or potential signing has been from our shores and I always think it’s good to have a right blend. Our academy is doing good work developing some prospects but one or two ready made Prem proven players would be most welcome.
I liked the idea of Sessegnon and Gil on the left of the 4-3-3, though it didn't quite come off 100%. Brian Hill played well and it allowed him to go wide or come central and play with a lot of freedom. Sessegnon still looked to be lacking sharpness and fitness, but showed some flashes here and there and could benefit from more cup games. The versatility that they both seem to have could work out very well if they're allowed to develop an understanding.
They linked up once or twice in the first game as well, I said after the game they were the only ones to leave that game with any respect. I was a bit disappointed we took Sess off when we did last night though, the intent was there even if things weren't coming off for him. He's definitely rusty and needed the minutes but I'm confident he'll come good in time. Now that we've guaranteed group stage football that should be a solid 6 starts for him pending no injuries and by that time he should be able to get minutes elsewhere all being well. As for Gil, just shows zero nerves for someone who's brand new to a team and country. Really do think we're gonna love him.
