Agree with bits from all CK, Bob and Roo.

Japh deserves a run in the side, we know he’s a massive talent but just been blighted by injuries but he could save us a lot of money if he stays fit and further develops into the role.

As Bob says though when looking to break teams down he may not currently be the best bet. He has speed and he’s not afraid to try and take a player on (albeit lacks actual skill/ dribbling qualities) but his crossing isn’t sufficient (yet!) for a FB, you look at Reguilon on the other flank and that’s how you need your FBs to cross. It can come in time though and right now Japh has surely cemented himself as first choice of the current crop so more experience and practice should do him good.

And yeah, that loan move is surely off the cards now. I’d keep Doherty, I thought he done well in the 10 or so minutes he was on yesterday and he also had his best game of last season on the final day so he may be finally hitting his stride now. Aurier has a year left on his deal, has been left out of the ECL qualifier squad, wants out and I think after 4 years it’s definitely the right time to sell, hopefully we just get a buyer.

Another “Spurs are close to completing the signing of Takehiro Tomiyasu” tweet is doing the rounds.

He’s been close to signing for about 5 weeks now <laugh>

Given how Aurier is in the final year of his contract, he's surely getting dumped off sooner rather than later

I hate to link to TalkShite, but Simon Jordan's got this one pretty close to the truth, barring the figure:

Pay up or **** off. It's not hard.

Right, enough of Kane… can we please have some incomings and fundamental outgoing stuff this week, Fabio? Time is ticking.

Spurs are reported to be very keen on Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.
Uruguayan international 26 years old who was of a real interest to Inter Milan.

He's a CM or RM loves a tackle, superb work rate with good close control and he is meant to have a fantastic attitude.
Would compete with PEH or Skippy.

If we sign him then surely we would have to offload Sissoko / winks or even N'Dombele.

Just to add it would seem that Nuno wants a workaholic midfield three as seen in yesterday's game so the attacking three have less defensive duty.
Be difficult to see N'Dombele having a future at Spurs it seems.

You can carry a "luxury" MF player when the % of games they deliver
is far more beneficial to the games when they go AWOL.

    For example, Hoddle.

NDombele by comparison is the inverse.

Looks like a direct Sissoko replacement given his position and how he's deployed, which also means Hojbjerg would get a rest

...but not much of one, as he's a card magnet even in Serie A

Based on how we saw PEH play yesterday and at the Euros, it looks like we’re looking for 2 box to box players (GLC, Dele, Højbjerg and, right now. Sissoko) with Skipp holding. My guess would be that Winks is Skipp’s backup right now, though PEH could play that role too. Replacing Sissoko would be sensible as he’s proven enough times that his work rate doesn’t make up for a lack of technique and footballing nous.

EDIT: where this leaves Tanguy is anyone’s guess. Hopefully bringing us a good transfer fee.

Alasdair Gold has us down for a CB, RB, and CF while keeping an eye out for an AM if somebody quality becomes available

I noticed the Harry Kane stats thread was started by @lennypops and I was wondering how long it had been since we'd seen Lenny around. According to the search facility we haven't seen him since 2014. I'm not sure Kane was breaking many records then and indeed the thread was started in 2017. So 3 years of Lenny's posts have gone from the search facility. It is clearly not reliable.

As PNP mentioned, some posts have vanished and the boilerplate claims it was for data protection reasons

Either there was a botch when archiving posts, or some outside party has swung an axe at a chunk of the site

I really do think we'll be in for a hectic end of window, mate.

Not just us but the whole of football. Just got this feeling it's gonna go quite mad. I think many teams in Europe need to sell to balance the books/ raise funds and that'll be taken advantage of by a lot of the Prem, who'll then look at shipping out some of their own deadwood. Possible merry-go-rounds and everything.

I can genuinely see 3-4 in and 3-4 out. Possibly more on both sides.

I don't think that the posts have disappeared.
    The site's search function doesn't work properly, but that's a long-standing thing.
Web searches is different, though. Not sure what that's about, but I think that the posts are still there.

If you click on the Matchday Thread designator on the Spurs board, then it gives you those threads exclusively.
Only goes back to 2015, but I think that's when people started using it or the feature was introduced.
There doesn't appear to be a gap in there anywhere, as far as I can see.

I think the most likely outs at this point are Aurier and Sissoko. If good offers come for Tanguy and Bergwijn I can see us selling too if we can get a replacement. I could also see Sanchez going if we have a CB lined up and a suitable offer comes in, we know there’s been interest in him.

Ins are presumably a striker and replacing a CM, CB and winger depending on outgoings. I don’t think we need a replacement for Aurier, we have Doherty for an attacking RB and Tanganga as a more defensive option.

Yeah Sissoko and Aurier are dead certs I'd say.
Ndombele will be tough to shift and not just because he's overweight.
Think Nuno likes Bergwijn, won't be a regular starter but a squad option under him.
We'll be stuck with Winks, even when told he ain't wanted.
I'd rather Dier go than Sanchez but Sanchez has more value so makes sense, especially if Milenkovic does arrive.
Think Rodon may go too, loan or perm, didn't feature much for Jose or Mason and now seemingly Nuno too.

I think Milenkovic may be next through the door if reports are to be believed. Though if we get him, do we still go for Tomiyasu? Or vice versa?
Striker next on the list, two if Kane does end up going. Sounds like we're going to push for Vlahovic, depends on Fiorentina's resolve.
One or two CMs too, especially if Skipp does partner Hojbjerg full time as we'll need another battler in the squad to cover for cups/ ECL whilst another creative option would be ideal.
