There is somewhat of a positive spin to put on that and it's that he didn’t pull the plug in the end, which may point towards Don Fabio is indeed (somewhat) getting his own way.

Just a year or so ago that sort of headline would’ve likely read “Levy pulls plug on deal as player deemed too expensive”.
