In mid-February 2019 we were in 3rd place, 5 points off top, playing good football without Kane who had been out injured. Son was scoring for fun. Then, against Burnley, Poch introduces a nowhere near match-fit Kane back into the team from the start; suddenly we're all over the place because the whole team has to re-adjust and we lose momentum, Son stops scoring and we start to sink like a stone. Same thing in the CL final where Kane is played from the start after returning from injury see my comments at the time from this point onwards https://www.not606.com/threads/tottenham-hotspur-v-liverpool.374429/page-28 Bad squad management and pandering to a striker whose main focus has always been to play as many games so he can win the golden boot was our downfall that season. As great a striker as Kane is, he doesn't always put the team before personal glory and, imho, that has cost us. If he was a bit more honest and said something like "i'm not quite ready yet" or "bring me on from the bench if we're way out in front or need to chase a goal" then we'd probably have ended up with a better end to that season. A clearly injured R Baggio played the 1994 WC final (with Zola on the bench) and Italy ended up losing to a workmanlike Brazil team on penalties, effectively playing 120 minutes with 10 men. That's what it has seemed like whenever Kane returns from injury
Gonna try this tactic when I next buy a house... I wanna buy your house. Well, I don't wanna sell so it'll have to be a lot! How about £100k, my old Ford Cortiner, and my old kitchen which I was about to upgrade? Mate, smaller houses round here go for £300k and like I said, I don't wanna sell unless it's a lot. OK, OK how about 150k, the Ford Cortiner, the kitchen and I'll throw in the TV that I no longer use ...oh and I got a couple of cans of Perroni from summer 2020? Look...£450k end of. How dare you, I will not be held to ransome over the how much I pay for your house ... consider yourself warned!

Frankly we should make it plain If £73m gets you a player who missed a penalty in the Euro final shootout, you have to pay at least double that for somebody who scored one
We might not be signing the elite players but we aren’t signing the Clarke’s and Nkoudous either I feel. It’s a level or 2 above and the calibre of player that makes me hold onto a few silly dreams for the forthcoming season…I always leave a bit of space in my head for ‘you just never know’ and I think I can still do that with our possible incomings…i’ll be fine till October I think…can’t make any further promises.
Apparently he does Well I guess the Spanish and Italian clubs now know the ballpark figure we're looking for...
I'm just hoping the Italian-Australian Spurs fans don't unintentionally give him a nickname that is really, really racist...
Italian-Australians call themselves a word that, in this country, is typically used to describe people of the Indian subcontinent (which caused a bit of trouble over here when it cropped up in a few episodes of Neighbours) Let's just say making a portmanteau of Gollini's name and that word could be a tad problematic...
Lower League Rando Watch Football BSIder claim we're looking at Northampton striker Caleb Chukwuemeka On the one hand from what I have seen (with audio muted...) is he does have good feet, and the chances are he would be picked up for chicken feed, the obvious counter argument is he's already 19 so is the same age as Troy Parrott and Kion Etete while being two years older than Dane Scarlett, and considering Parrott's been talked up for a loan while the way our admin's been promoting Scarlett in the last week indicates we have plans to dripfeed him into the team this season this would essentially mean we're signing somebody so our U23s have some depth up front That being said, he is reportedly a David Pleat suggestion like Dele and James Maddison were
