@Roo looks like the rumours you heard were valid, mate.

    For those wondering:
Official negotiations with football player and club SL Benfica have begun regarding the temporary transfer of professional football player Gedson Carvalho Fernandes to our club.

With Gio I’d more be sad about his potential with us being unfulfilled than the impact on the pitch, like you say it’s been intermittent because of the injuries.

When did you learn Turkish by the way?

    Twitter transl... I mean it's easy <whistle>

Though if it counts, I do know a few basic words and sentences in Turkish, one of my best mates is of Turkish heritage and used to be a joint leader of the GFB English group so whenever Spurs weren't playing on the same day I'd often to go to their social club in Stoke Newington to watch games with them all, therefore I've been forced to hate Gala <laugh>

    Didn't see that one coming

I thought a summer move to PSG was more likely...

    Rumours so far:

Parrott to be recalled and sent elsewhere.
Gazzaniga looking for a Spanish club transfer.
Celtic also trying to get Tanganga on loan.
Rose likely to stay as the Trabzon deal seems dead.
One we expected - no Eriksen incoming thus Dele staying.

    Exciting stuff! <laugh>

Given that our 2 front line right backs are Aurier and Doherty, if we do this, we've jumped the shark in terms of transfer lunacy and there's no ****ing hope for us.

He ain’t getting a look-in though, just as KWP didn’t. Best to let him have some first football now and assess the position in the summer. We’re ****ed right now anyway, might as well let some prospects go and develop, lol.

Sounds like Parrott might go Ipswich. Shame they aren’t in the Championship, could’ve been him vs Skipp in the East Anglian Derby.

Ally Gold saying Gazza could be on his way to Elche. G'luck to the guy if it goes through.

It'd probably add some comedic value to our dross performances to be fair...

Which incompetent employee gets to pick the player(s) we waste money on, that we haven't got ...?

...and who, of any quality, wants to join this circus, right now?

January is never the time for that kind of work though, especially given the extent of the surgery needed. We need to move on some of the non-HG squad filler but there’s little market for them right now because clubs won’t risk the spend on a mid-tier player who would likely command a decent fee and wages.

Hopefully the financial situation across football improves over the summer as the vaccine distribution kicks in internationally, and summer is easier to do business anyway, so I have more hope for that over the next window.

The age-old issue of our Non HG quota is rearing its head again

That said, Gazzaniga moving out would free one up - of course, the fact that we need both a DM and a commanding CB means we can only address one of these if we're looking overseas, as I can't think of any HG options for either as Sean Longstaff is more in the Winks role, while looking at the HG CBs who are available the first names that spring to mind are Phil Jones, Steve Cook and Steven Caulker
I can suggest a few FB options in the last six months of their contract who we could do worse: Nathaniel Clyne, Ryan Bertrand, Adam Smith

Frankly we could do with somebody there, with Aurier on the naughty step and Doherty being so impressive of late that Sissoko is picked as RB ahead of him, and how many LBs do we need to sign before Danny Rose takes the ****ing hint and waddles out of the club?
