THat should suit him very well being of Cypriot origin. He will have a very good lifestyle in Cyprus, and loads of sun.
Torino are apparently in talks with Benfica to sign Gedson on loan, essentially cancelling/ replacing our current deal.
Sounds like we’re gonna loan Austin to Orlando. Both he and Whiteman should’ve been loaned out in the summer to be honest but hopefully this works out for him, he done well at Viborg last season and this would represent a step up, even if it’s still not the greatest of leagues.
Who wants to tell him that it's a different Joao Moutinho who plays for them? Or that it's the same Nani?
Not sure the standard of the league matters that much to a keeper. Worse defenders means more work. In some ways trying to organise inferior players is a good experience for them.
He's half-American too, so I'm sure he'll enjoy the experience. Not sure how many games he'll get, as they've got Peru's keeper as their number one at the moment.
De Telegraaf report that Ajax are considering a bid for Davos I'm going to presume that a loan is the most likely outcome this window, if there is one
I'd be all for any sensible loan for him. His game has collapsed, so much so that, I'd pick myself ahead of him right now.
The Mirror report we're considering a £20m bid for Max Aarons this summer Anyone else hear the phrase "Don't you mean £20m + Matt Doherty?"?
But when Norwich get promoted, as they surely will, they won't want to sell - despite the appealing Doherty carrot.
I'm not convinced by Aarons. Is he PL proven? Kind of, in the same way that Alfie Mawson was. Looked good in a generally poor side. One for the future but certainly not who I'd pick to improve on Aurier. My gut feeling is we'll need to spend big to do that. Tried it on the cheap with a player whose PL credentials piss all over Aarons', and that gamble hasn't paid off at all. So I'd be all for Aarons joining if we sold both the current incumbents and spent big on an established player to be first choice. But if we're going the Aarons route, surely Lamptey and Cash deserve to be added to the conversation?
Serbian CB Watch Since this is now a thing... So having been linked with Nikola Milenkovic for a couple of years, now we have Sports Witness linking us with Napoli's Nikola Maksimovic, who is basically Milenkovic but for the following key differences * Maksimovic is 29, while Milenkovic is 23 * Maksimovic has six months left on his contract, to Milenkovic's 18 * Maksimovic has played a grand total of 78 games since joining Napoli in 2016, compared to Milenkovic's 108 games since joining Fiorentina in 2017 Anyone get the feeling somebody at Sport Witness made a snafu about Serbia CBs playing in Serie A named Nikola? Milik Watch
There was a link a week or two ago mentioning Odriozola as a possible target, so seeing as we've taken one of Madrid's unwanted FBs, it'd feel rude not to take another, especially if they turn out like our current one has. I too would prefer Lamptey to Aarons but I think the latter would still be a decent signing, likely cheaper too seeing as Lamptey recently signed a new deal at Brighton. Both still have a lot to improve on and seeing as there aren't too many top RBs on the market, going for the young with potential approach is probably our next best bet. KWP's performances for Saints is certainly showing how badly Poch ****ed it with him though. Can't help but think a couple season long loans at the right clubs and we wouldn't be currently having such an issue at RB. He'd probably be open to a return in a year or so seeing as he's a Spurs fan but it's safe to say Southampton would want just a little bit more than the £12m they paid us in the summer...
