The lad is already a decent RB and will definitely progress to be a good CB. I would be happy with the loan but wanted much more on the buy option. A full season of first team football can make a lot of difference for a young player.
Thanks mate but you didn't really need to say it, three posters have already acknowledged it with good replies
Both Foyth and Sessegnon need game time and neither have done enough for us to suggest that keeping them at the club in the short term is really an option. Foyth was unlucky that he got injured (on international duty?), before a ball was kicked last season, is it was highly probable that he was going to be given his chance at RB by Poch who clearly liked him and in the limited appearances he made for us, I think that we all thought that he had the potential to be a good player, but in just about every game he played he made critical mistakes that often resulted in a goal against us and maybe that is how history will portray his time at Spurs and if we almost double our money on him that is not bad business. FWIW I think that Spain will suit him and he is likely to have a good career there, but I do really think he will ever be really top class, I am not sure. Sessegnon on the other hand has again had very few opportunities, but he has failed to take advantage of the ones he has been given, and given the players that we have in the areas of the pitch that are ahead of him in the pecking order this loan makes perfect sense, I hope he goes, plays frequently and gets his confidence back, because I do believe that there is a good player, he is certainly (like Foyth) talented enough, but does he have the heart and fight in his make up to get to the very top, this is a massive season now for him to step up to a new challenge and come back ready to challenge for a place here too.
Think the new deal is to ensure we still have value if Villarreal don’t take up the option to buy him as his initial deal ran out in 2022.
As people can probably tell from the pictures, Lavinier is an ex-Chelsea academy player, while Omole was on Arsenal's books. They've both played for the U23s already. Lavinier is the starting right-back and Omole's on the bench.
Cavani age 33 Bale 31 games played by Bale in last 2 years 75 games played by Cavani last 2 years 66 Must be a past it dud come for his pension considering our golf obsessed injury prone winger who has ‘lost his desire for the game’ has managed more games in the past 2 years than the free agent no one was seemingly interested in signing...isn’t that right @Diego
What're the odds anyone dares mention that the Manchester Penalty Merchants weren't his first choice - Benfica were?
