Nyland could be a good shout and would fit in well with our Scandinavian contingent. Good experience both here and abroad and 30 caps for Norway. 30 is a good age for a keeper and it could be a good shout long-term as well.
A twitter "ITK" account thinks our January signings will be a LB, a goalkeeper (loan) and maybe a winger. First two seem like no-brainers, perhaps the goalkeeper only being on loan would mean there's an avenue for McGovern to stay beyond the summer. Surprised there's no mention of a CB, but Tettey seems to be considered our 4th CB now, and a LB signing would free up Sorensen to deputise there if needs be too. Surprised about the idea of a winger, given we have Placheta, Onel and Martin who have barely featured so far this season. But equally we could see Cantwell/Buendia depart and need a replacement.
Hi guys, Arsenal supporter in peace here I've seen a number of reports linking us to Emiliano Buendia. I have to be honest. Apart from some statistics I've seen about his chance creation, and a few YouTube clips (which don't always tell the whole story), I don't know much about him. Hypothetically speaking, if we were to sign him, do you reckon he'd do well for us? Would you be upset at him leaving or not really? What are his main strengths / weaknesses? Appreciate any honest replies.
I'll be dead honest. Emi is going NOWHERE for £14m - add ons, or not. And don't let this deluded twat tell you any different. If Ben Godfrey was worth an initial £20m to Everton, Emi is worth £25m. Otherwise, we can all move on
With NCFC the Championship leaders, Buendia has been outstanding this season. He is a highly valued member of the squad and as such would command a high transfer fee and add ons. I see that £40m is being mentioned in the media and even this may not be enough. Even IF he was transferred, it’s difficult to assess the impact he would have with Arsenal. It is our intention to return to the PL a stronger side than last season, so the likes of Buendia and our other sought after players are needed in our quest to remain in the PL. Why sell the family silver when you don’t need to?
Never seen that account before mate, but honestly, it doesn't sound believable at all. That figure does seem exceptionally low for a seemingly highly-sought after player in a promotion-chasing Norwich team. I'd expect the figure to be around £25m - £30m, maybe even more considering your situation. I take it he's a very popular player amongst Norwich fans then?
Greetings. You can have him for £50M at the end of the season. He is head and shoulders above any current player at Carrow Rd and most other Championship teams. He can certainly blow hot and cold, and is boiling at the moment. He can also be petulant, red card worry at times, and a tendancy to blame others for his mistakes. If you can afford him,go for him,but I hope he stays obviously.
Ok, that's good to know. Thanks We can afford him, but I'm highly doubtful we'll pay £50m for a player who has spent most of his time in the Championship, despite how good he may be. If this is also the stance of your management, my guess is we'll look for other targets. I suppose we'll have to wait and see what transpires.
He's very popular amongst our supporters and certainly on his day is one of our most important players, however he does have his moments and occasionally hits the self destruct button. I think the problem Arsenal will have is that he has a lot left on his contract, we don't have to sell and he is worth more to us if he gets us back to the PL than he is to you. Having said that the club have always said that every player has a price and they won't hold players back. You may be able to get him in January for something in the region of 30m plus with a loan back till the end of the season. Failing this a summer deal may be possible, but much will depend on what happens between now & then.
He's ****e , more likely to get a red card and disrupt the changing room than score. Steer well clear He's toxic and a one trick pony
The Buendia situation has now moved on with multiple rumours suggesting that Arsenal are now looking at offering £40m and a possible player exchange including Reiss Nelson and/or Joe Willock. Having been through all of this with Liverpool we should take it all with a grain of salt.
Small rumour linking us to a Northampton academy striker: https://www.google.com/amp/s/footba...-efl-player-amid-premier-league-interest/amp/
The football press are such guttertrash. You get an entire industry that lives on regurgitating the same thing. Mostly one place says someone IKT has told them, and then it gets grown and inflated by every hanger on blog and sports 'journo' going. Codswallop, the lot of it. Also I hope we dont fall for the player and cash offers. I dont care how good a young player we have coming the other way, theyd be being used as a bargaining chip. We need players who actively wish to be with us. Not hostages abandoned by the big league to wallow in self pity with us.
Totally agree, BC, but I quite enjoy sifting the cr*p from the possible, like we had to do through the Lewis to Liverpool saga. The Newcastle approach was a complete contrast with a realistic offer straight away, suiting both clubs. With Arsenal, the indications are that nothing will happen soon. Their fans are certainly not happy with the possibility of losing Nelson in particular. If a swap is suggested, like HMQC, l'm happy to trust SW and DF to make the right decisions.
