Hugill is out for somewhere between a few days and a few weeks, depends on the scan results really. Pukki and Idah both could be fit by the next game, and with Soto and Omotoye in the building too, I'm not sure it makes sense to loan in a striker who could be 4th choice within a month.
Assuming there's no work permit / CoVid isolation issues with Soto, this could be a really good opportunity for him to force his way into the first team picture. I think it's unlikely that both Idah and Pukki are fully fit for the next game. And even if one of them is fit to start, they might not have 90 mins of fitness. So we'd probably go with 2, even 3 strikers on the bench, which might be a slot for Soto.
He will be match fit and worth a place on the bench assuming Pukki starts. Like to see him given the opportunity.
Probably a good sign that either Pukki or Idah are fit to start the next game. And that Soto hasn't entirely flopped in training!
At 20, Soto is two years older than Omotoye, so he should bring a wider experience of the american, french and dutch leagues. If he can make the step up now it will be like a new signing.
He has played "mens" football for a season and a half at least, though not sure how much he played at Hannover.
Yes, don't know where that came from - I was thinking German but typed French! I think he played in the Hannover U19 and the Hannover II team in tier 2, like Zimmerman did for Dortmund. He did make 5 appearances as a sub for the senior team.
Deluded, ill-informed Spurs fan 1 - No, you didn't, he's on a season long loan. 2 - It's a team game, you tw@t, and while having a stellar season, it's not all down to him. 3 - As Bros might have said, "We owe you nothing"! https://tbrfootball.com/spurs-fans-react-on-twitter-to-max-aarons-reports/
If Skipp was leading us single handedly to promotion we'd have scored no goals and without a doubt conceded a staggering number of goals. Don't you just love hyperbole!
If anything it's them that owe us for giving him the game time they weren't able to. In truth, both parties should gain from a loan, which is happening with Skipp, which is great for both clubs. If we did sell Aarons to Spurs could we link the sale to having Skipp for another year if we get promoted ?
Aarons is more valuable because 21 year old super wingbacks are extremely popular In the modern game especially English ones. He's proven he can perform at any level . I would argue that Skipp has been way more influential than Aarons for us because he's an excellent shield for the back 4 and does all the dirty work as well as keeping the passes flowing. Tettey is shot now . A permanent switch plus money would be amazing for us but Spurs aren't going to do that , no way. I wouldn't be surprised if Mourinho has told Skipp to bend Max's ear about a possible move and loaning us Skipp was a sweetener.
The word a while back was that Mourinho wanted a bigger, stronger FB/WB than Max, but that may have changed.
I was thinking that Aaron's with our current squad is perhaps more easily replaced than Skipp and if we sold them Aarons part of the deal would be that Skipp would return to us for another season. For me Aarons 3 main weaknesses are his heading ability, his crossing ability and his decision making, although this seems to be improving
From today's BBC Football Gossip Column; "Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman is set to be the first player to leave since Lampard's exit, with the Ghana international, 26, poised to join Greek side PAOK Salonika on loan. (Sport24, via London.Football)" I wonder if our hunt for a LB included running a rule over Rahman. Talented player derailed by a series of unfortunate injuries.
