German papers say Magath interested in
Stefan Kutschke 25 Center Forward Wolfsburg

Former Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov has agreed a one-year contract to stay with French Ligue 1 side Monaco.
The 33-year-old Bulgarian joined the principality club on loan from the Cottagers in January, although it was later reported that his contract with Fulham had been terminated

The latest rumour is our interest in Niklas Moisander.

"Fulham have targeted Ajax central defender Niklas Moisander to help them back into the Premier League. The 28-year-old Finland international has been identified by Felix Magath and his staff as the man to shore up the Cottagers defence next season after helping Ajax to the Dutch title.

Moisander joined Ajax for £2.5million in July 2012 after four seasons with AZ Alkmaar but could be available again as his club are looking to bring through a younger central defender in Stefano Denswil.
He signed a three-year deal on his arrival in Amsterdam and, with only one year left on his contract, is in a strong position to dictate his next destination.

Whether he would opt to play in the Championship with Fulham next season remains to be seen or whether he would prove to be an astute capture at under 6ft tall.

Moisander is good friends with Finnish teammate Tim Sparv - whose father scouts for Fulham in Europe.
The central defender started in Finland's 2-2 friendly international draw with the Czech Republic on Wednesday night in Helsinki but came off at half-time."

Looking at the list of Free Transfers from other clubs there are some iconic names included - Fat Frank and Schwartz from Chelsea, Lord Bendtner from the Arsenal to mention a few.

From our 'new' perspective though, the only player that I thought realisically might be worth a punt was Dean Moxey of Palace. [Apart from Marc Albrighton who we've already mentioned.]

Here's the link again to all the Free Transfers from all of the PL clubs to see if you can spot anyone else:

I wouldn't mind snapping up Macheda on a free transfer. He can definitely do a job in the Championship.

Matty Fryatt could be an option, someone who knows his way to goal and especially in the Championship. I seem to remember him having good goalscoring seasons with both Leicester and Hull in recent years. At 28 he's not too old and could possibly still have his best few years ahead of him.

Well the Albrighton deal definitely isn't going to happen, he's signed for Leicester. A very good signing for them.

We've also been linked with Chuks Aneke from Arsenal on a free. I don't know much about the lad but his Wikipedia page suggests he has a lot of experience for a 20 year old. He's played almost 100 games while out on loan in Leagues 1 and 2 and has a goal to game ratio of about 1 in 4. That's not bad for a midfielder. Could be a good bit of business.

Can't imagine Fat Frank would fancy playing for us, especially given all the abuse he's been given down the years. I can't imagine him staying in England, he's probably off to the US.

Nice thought but wouldn't surprise me to see Chelsea give him a final years contract extension. If not, probably US bound as already stated.

We are reportedly in for Osasuna's Cameroon international midfielder Raoul Loe.

Loe is a possible recruit with the 25-year-old defensive midfield man aiming to secure a move away from Osasuna following their relegation from the Spanish La Liga last term.
He could be available for around £1.6million as enters the final year of his contract, but Fulham are set to face competition from the likes of fellow Championship sides Wigan and Cardiff for his signature.

It is unknown if Loe would contemplate playing in English football's second tier given that he wants to quit Osasuna, while any Premier League interest would no doubt scupper Fulham's chances of securing a deal.

PS Osasuna were of course relegated to the Spanish second division along with Real Betis

The current scatter of rumours suggest that we’re certainly looking for a defensive midfielder, with a tad of of experience. The latest, according to the Daily Mirror is Michael Mancienne for £1 million.

The 26yr old from Isleworth is ex-Chelsea (having had loan spells with Wolves) who is currently with Hamburg. The transfer fee from Chelsea to Hamburg in 2011 was reported as £2m.

I'd be happy with Mancienne. I haven't seen or heard much of him since he moved to Hamburg but I remember when he was still in England he was being touted as a future England regular. Maybe he hasn't lived up to his potential but there's still time on his side. I reckon he'd be a great player in the Championship. I always thought he was a centre back rather than a defensive midfielder though.

I think we missed a trick with this one, he's signed for Cardiff on a three year deal. Great signing for them I think.

I'm not so sure. He's a young, inexperienced skilful striker; he'd be direct competition for Cauley/Roberts/Dembele rather than a complement for them. I'd rather have an experienced foil for the talent we already have.

We need to move away from the Jol tactic of signing players based on on-paper talent and start signing players to build a squad.

Well people are hoping Marcello Trotta stays. Macheda and Trotta are similar players. If we could have signed Macheda for free and sold Trotta to Brentford we'd have done some very good business. The lad isn't that inexperienced, he's played in the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga and the Championship and is still only 22. He scored 10 goals in 18 games in the Championship for a struggling Birmingham last year. Unfortunately it's not to be though.

I can see the logic, FI. I'm just not too bothered that he went elsewhere.

To be honest, I think that we will be frustrated by missing out on other players who are much more of a fit to what we need over the next two months.

SkySports are reporting a lot of clubs, including us, are interested in Lewis Grabban of Bornemouth.

"The 26-year-old former Rotherham United and Crystal Palace forward scored 22 goals in his first full Championship campaign last term, and is said to have a £3m release clause in his current contract."

    Any insights Captain?

I'd say no. A lot of his 22 goals last season were penalties. To be honest, when I've seen Bournemouth in the last couple of years (which is only occasionally) I haven't thought Grabban was anything special. He had a good run of goals at the start of the season, which cemented him in the side when I was expecting him to be one of the players who fell by the wayside with Bournemouth stepping up a division. It's hard to knock someone who gets 22 goals, even with penalties, but he wouldn't be a signing that would excite me. When AFCB played Liverpool in the cup, I thought they matched the Scousers in every department other than up front, where Grabban just lacked the clinical edge to make the most of the chances they created.
