I'd take 2 of them. If Maureen is stupid enough to allow Fosu Mensah to leave it could prove to be another Pogba moment imo Mata has been on our radar for 2 months.
Behave mate, the bloke is absolute quality. Played in the right position he'd be the creative midfielder we've craved for years We're definitely trying HARD to sign him.
I'm not saying he's pants or anything but Maureen dumping him what would be twice makes me unsure... He could turn out a blinder if signed like smiles then obviously...
I don't think Mata will go anywhere unless a massive bid comes in (at least until January), I think they will see how the "relationship" develops. That is only my opinion (and perhaps hope) though as common thought is that he is a gonner.
I think they could tbh. I can see Barkley dropping a bit deeper. Mata would tick the marquee signing box for Moshiri, as it would be seen as a genuine statement of intent. We'll see how it pans out, but I can definitely see Mata leaving United before the window shuts to go somewhere.
Did a post about this earlier on the United board. Think he would be a stellar signing for you guys. Reports are saying Everton have already put in a £21m bid, and Mata wants to leave, but I think United may hold out for a little more. Jose doesnt like him because he is a pure attacking player, and he hates people who do not track back, and has a problem with Mata's work rate. I personally feel its just a clash of two people with different ideals who don't get on to be honest. Mata would fit right in at any top team in Europe imo, so if you manage to get him then that would be a great coup, imo.
If we had him in a midfield then I feel it would be at the expense of Barkley(personally) Without a doubt a fantastic talent and would help in the final third with creativity, but does he have the pace RK may look to use? However at home when teams sit deep he would then. With Besic out will the lad from Villa along with McCarthy have legs/experience to help get the best from him. Would he do best in a 4-5-1 or 3-5-2which I can see us using more now
His best role will always be behind the striker, as a No.10 role, for me. Either in a 4-2-3-1, a 4-4-1-1 or a 4-5-1. Koeman bought him in at Valencia and rates him highly.
One of the reasons i was thinking if Mata would do a job for us tbh... No doubt a good player but unless ge will be played in his best position is there any point? We need more competition yes but need strengthening elsewhere first but this may be what we are doing first while the Mata iron is in the fire?
Can i just ask is Funes Mori likely to be a starter for you. Only asking as i stuck him in my FF team as he seemed to be one of the few in your team who can take any credit for their performance in last third of past season but with Williams signed and presumably Kone on way his position seems very much in doubt
Depends if he plays with 3 at the back mate. If Kone arrives he might revert back to a 4 with Williams, in which case Funes Mori will be on the bench. He'll start tomorrow though 100%
