But arent the games stopping during World Cup
Championship games will be on pause until the conclusion of the World Cup group games and the first round of knock out games. So depending on if certain teams make it out of the groups, certain players will be unavailable when Championship games resume !

Swansea City, Middlesbrough, Preston and QPR are all interested in taking Tottenham and Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott, 20, on loan during the 2022-23 season (Football.London), as reported in BBC online "Gossip" column.

I hope we actually sign a couple of experienced players who will improve the squad rather than take too many youngsters who may be hit or miss. Archer should be the loan priority, proven at our level...

If true that is encouraging. Looks like Steve G wants us to foster Villa's brightest youngsters and that surely must tick all the boxes the Board had until our own 'world beating' Academy starts to deliver some genuine prospects for Premier League football. We train them on, give them lots of big match experience and give them back to take the next ones off the conveyor belt while we develop. Now we just need to avoid the inevitable three defeats in a row when it all comes crashing down.as a reckless gamble.

All about balance I guess. Two or three great loans, combined with two or three of our own signings who are younger players, would be nice. I do agree with you that we're lacking a bit of experience. With Austin / Wallace etc leaving, we're relying on Adomah & Johansen to really be the wise old heads. Thankfully I suspect they're quite a good fit for that. An extra experienced player wouldn't hurt. Looking forward to seeing how the window pans out.

Are we gonna be doing business with the Scum ? Been a while since we took anyone from them, even though they have about 300 out on loan every season !
