I dont get this logic.
In his relatively short career he has already been exposed to both ends of the spectrum from high praise to fans jeering at him. This fickleness wont go unnoticed.
It's a short career and I expect right now ( like maja was ) he is amongst the lower paid players.
He will have watched maja get a very hefty pay increase and long contract. After a slow start he has established himself and is getting admiring glances far and wide.
Loyalty, badge kissing etc is very quaint but has little place in the modern game.
A similar move could set the lad up for life in a game where a late tackle could end a career in a moment.

There is a balance though. Loyalty doesn't mean anything really but have a space to play, grow and develop counts for a lot. It's rare that a player's career gets ended these days by an injury so the first move for more money shouldn't always be the only thing hat matters.

Moving somewhere like Huddersfield would be a poor move for Hume in my opinion. They're struggling in the championship, a bit of a mess at the moment and he has know idea what he's getting into.

There's every possibility that in 12 months he could have made a bright start to the Championship with us and he's attracting premier league interest.

That being said, as a club we should be looking at giving the lad an improved deal if he hasn't had one in the last year.

Whether its barca or barnsley, I wouldnt blame any player moving if he at least doubles his money.
Football is like most other forms of society sadly and venality while a curse is ever present.

Well if donald stays true to form he will sell someone key to our promotion hopes for a relative pittance and replace him with an inferior player who is much much more expensive.
