Transfer Rumours

Pearce is more likely to stay at Reading, plus there's rumoured Premiership interest so he's not really a viable target right now.

It's a shame we didn't go in for Lichaj, but with Byram/Warnock we actually have two decent full backs for once, so not sure he was really needed. Good player though.

Yea but I woulda played him at RB and pushed Byram forward. If we end up selling Byram then we have missed out on possibly the best replacement available espeically considering he's a free

We could've done, but I definitely see Byram as a full back and not a winger. Final ball isn't there just yet. If we sell him I suppose it'll be Wabara, providing we sign him, who will start at RB. Would've preferred Lichaj but alas...

I like the part where they say Gradel has been playing in top division french football since he was 13 <laugh>

'The 25-year-old, a big favourite during his time at Elland Road, moved to Ligue One outfit St Etienne in 2001 and has gone onto establish himself for both his club and the Ivory Coast.'

<laugh> youngest ever professional I'll have you know

On a slightly more serious note, McHattie sounds a good player, the type I think we need to go for - young with lots of potential. Interesting that we're being linked to loads of full backs though. Don't see how he'd fit in unless Drury's going, Taylor's leaving on loan and White's going to be used in midfield...

Well I would like to see Taylor go out on loan, White to be sold and I wouldn't mind keeping Drury around.

I do want us to keep Warnock as first choice though, there aren't many left backs at this level that I rate higher than him (in fact none come to mind). So I do believe that if we did sign McHattie he would be one for the future rather than now but does seem hard to grasp how he'd fit in

I like Taylor, though he probably does still need another season out on loan. I've run out of patience and excuses with White, he's just not good enough. If he wasn't an academy graduate I doubt he'd have many complaints from fans if he left.

Warnock has to stay as first choice, the only real good quality signing Colin made for us. Him and McHattie would be fine there, but then there's still Drury too (who was criminally underused last year - Peltier ahead of him? What the hell went through Colin's mind...) so it just seems odd that we're making that position a priority, surely wingers would be more important?

Hasn't McDermott used him as a sub on the wing? If it spells the end for anyone I'd think it would be Drury most likely.

McD rates Dury, cant see him leaving. We always have the option to play Dury at left back moving Warnock into CB if we need cover in there. Totally agree with Josh though when he says Warnock is one of the best, if not the best LB in the championship <ok>

“@AgentUEFA: Sheffield United have enquired about Michael Brown, and Nick Blackman (loan) #SUFC #LUFC #readingfc”

“@PhilHayYEP: In tomorrow's YEP, we understand that #lufc are making moves to bring Max Gradel back to Elland Road”

Guess we can afford him now that he's out for a year with a snapped cruciate ligament!

Or has Phil Hay forgotten that Max is broken?

There was probably a two year guarantee with Max when we sold him. In the event of injuries, we bring him back to Elland Road, repair, pay his wages then return him when fixed
