ridiculous.. not even worth discussing. Its a wind up for utd fans in the run up to the game monday.

They included them all in the outline planning to get permission for the amount of people they can get in.

They have always said its marginal and based on success so they have been honest about it.

I would tend however to agree they are not really trying to be a face over here and are very arms length but then again some folks are going their utmost to alienate them and have been doing so despite them saving the club.

Do you agree that they should be made to fulfill their agreement when purchasing the club to build a new stadium(totally refurb our current ground)?

They(so far)got the club under false pretences.

I would like them to yes. I think personally while theres no real financial incentive to do the anfield road end if you look a the numbers as a pure neutral accountant the fact is they have the plans in their pocket and could continue to detailed planning out of the clubs pocket change. If the argument is over 20 odd million to make is viable then I would be upset as frankly thats half a decent player really. I personally want them to go do the anfield road end and when talking refurbs:

1. Anfield road end is complete rebuild. i hope we do it and i hope we hear about detail plans submitted.

2. Not really impressed with centenary stand refurb. it looks cheap low end tat. It looks like a diner.. this has been done in the back areas. There are ery long standing issues with expansion that would require 80 houses IMO. what do we expect here?

3. The kop end is another matter. How to refurb that to either ass a teir i don't know. I don't think its possible. There is a case to be made to move museum out i suppose and make concourse or something for fans like main stand.

4. they are building some club shop thing by the stand in that big cordoned off area by the kop/albert.

5. they did do the main stand

so yeah i'd like them to a great deal... I just feel that getting the club out of G&H was most important. After that... well if the plans they found after 6 months review were so bad they had to write off 50mill (which they covered to keep club going) then that changes the circumstances. I feel they've been honset on what they have done and said but I feel their noses are out of joint now.

I mean had the sky deal been same as before not a MAD sum that imo can't be sustainable then i don't think this expectation across the prem would exist.

I personally would perfer us to buy klopp style players and only invest in someone expensive like mane that klopp really wants and pump the rest into the facilities.

THeres a difference between say glaziers style, the araba style and the chavs style. Thus far abramovich really hasn't done much for the cheslea ground and has treated club like a toy so it has if anything under acheived. Utd seem to be fine with splashing cash wildly as long and the glaziers get thier skin. they i think have done ****e all (but didn't need to) to their gorund when they could have put 90k up easily. ... the arabs build fabulous things and fans seem to have cheap tickets too... but... they have no identity at all.

Earlier on you called them mingebags, and I think that's a fairer assessment than "greedy bastards", tbh. The latter would only be fair if it was obvious they were taking more out of the club than was reasonable, and that the club was suffering as a result. Despite the accusations going round there is no evidence of this.
Being mingy could be interpreted as being careful and not wanting to take risks. They're businessmen, not benefactors, so why should they be willing to risk their own money if there's a suspicion that it isn't viable? The club, as a business, is only just regaining its balance after the H&G debacle, so we need to see steady growth for a few years before we can be certain we're on the right track.

Mito makes a good point here, one we've made many times before but in a slightly different context, namely that there's far too much being spent on player transfers and wages and this is swallowing up money that could be used elsewhere. Of course we have to spend to be competitive on the pitch, but how long can it go on? I really believe football is in for a rude awakening at some point in the future. I'm no financial wizz but common sense indicates all the signs of an inflationary bubble that must burst at some point.
If that happens, I'd rather we were in the hands of astute businessmen who can handle it rather than cowboys who'll **** up or sugar daddies who'll cut and run if they don't like what they're seeing.
As for buying under false pretences - well, maybe they made them in good faith but find they can't do it at the moment. Who knows?
Given their track record so far I'd like to give them a bit of leeway, things really could be so much worse.

Ok saint we disagree, in closing I would just say that imho they have steadied the club, they have built the club's finances and also their investment magnificently which is admirable, but owners of the club itself have the means and power and the obligation to bring our ground up to date so we can compete at the highest level and to show they're here for the long haul by waiting those few(in terms of how long our club has been in existence) years to get any investment on rebuilding they make back.

Just my honest opinion saint.<ok>

You're a regular match-goer and I'm not these days so I'm sure you've got your finger on the pulse of the fans better than I have.
I just don't think that we're likely to see them put money in if they think it's risky, and I'd hate to see us having debt put onto the club and send us back to the cowboy days.
We'll agree to disagree - because there's no point in us banging on about it - and we'll wait to see what happens. <ok>

I may be well of base with this, but i dont see why the ground development is such a big issue, yes i would like a stadium that is up there with the best, yes i would like to have the biggest stadium in the country, but that is more bragging rights than anything else, if i had to pay for it, and manage the clubs money, then financial gain would play a much bigger part in my thoughts. 15 years is a long time in football considering the prem and the huge amount of money sloshing about is only 25 years old.

The current owners have saved the club from possible administration, brought more investment and sponsorship to the club, have approved massive outlay on transfers and wages (they have backed every manger), secured a top class manager for the club, extended and revamped 1 stand already. They have a vested interest in our success. I can not imagine better owners to be honest.

Its IMO (and just my opinion) that many 1000s of fans have been waiting for... 25/30 years for some resolution on this by multiple owners and its not just the mine is bigger than yours. I think genuinely there have been 10,0000s of people on a waiting list to get tickets for times ranging up to 20 years... it is access and being priced out of football. The assumption in general is the more in the less each ticket would be.

Most of the feeling is "day trippers" which i hate to hear said take the locals tickets and people can't afford to go.
 
Being reported that we've i troduced a salary cap for academy players of 40k a year, with chances to earn. Ore for under 23 appearances or while out on loan.

Make sense to me. 16/17/18 year olds shouldn't be earning more than that when they aren't making first team appearances. Should motivate them into pushing for first team football.

However, does it mean we may miss out on getting new players in from elsewhere if other clubs can offer
more, or keeping our own players from being poached?

They shouldn't be "earning" anywhere near that! £4k would be too much, never mind £40k!

Its 40k at 17.

Then at 18/19 it will be 5k to 10k per week. Thats 260 to 520k per year.

Think on it. sure you can try enforce this but when a really really good kid is there at 17 with 5 offers in his hand and you are offering 40k a year... well ..

I dont think anyone will sign on that without a clear scale of increments at 18 and 19.

I guess depends what they want. If they want to make a quick buck then yeah, but then question gets asked do we want a 17 yr old who isn't near the first team demanding that sort of money? If they have their head screwed on and decent agent / family advising them with some belief they will make it then wouldn't worry about money at that stage and be at club that offers them best footballing chance, with klopp here, they've got chance at one very good club with one of best managers.

PSG are reportedly set to offer Lucas Moura in part-exchange for Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho, but what do Reds fans think about this potential deal?

Earlier this week, French newspaper Le10 Sport claimed that PSG are willing to offer Moura plus a 'mouth-watering fee' to temp the Reds into selling Coutinho, but Liverpool fans don't appear to be impressed by PSG's plan.

I conducted a poll this week asking fans whether Liverpool should accept the deal, and the result were emphatic: 79% of participating fans voted NO the swap deal, which represents a massive vote of confidence for Coutinho.

With Barcelona also allegedly interested, would Coutinho even be interested in a move to PSG? When asked in July about a move to Ligue One, he offered the following diplomatic response:

"As far as I know, there's no offer [from PSG]. I'm here with the national team, and this subject is for my representatives".

This is not a denial, and it's markedly different to Coutinho's prior unambiguous responses to questions about his future. For example, in April 2015, Coutinho told reporters:

"My mind is at Liverpool. I’m a Liverpool player and I don’t think about those things because I’m happy here and want to be here".

Historically, Barcelona is hugely attractive for South American attackers, but the competition for places is intense, and the reality is that Coutinho will probably have more chance of becoming a first-team regular at PSG.
