Or a £30m/£40m move to a big club that can afford much higher wages and (as is the norm) a percentage of the transfer fee for signing on.If it suits both parties... as I've said why on earth would it suit this kid when he's got the perfect set up for next year and every club in Europe to go to....

Odd statement though don't you think? They try and offload McCarthy, fail, so "say" they pull out of Sissoko deal (even though he turned them down and chose Spurs for more money & CL) because didn't want to jeopardise McCarthy position... despite being the ones trying to offload him
True, but then again England have never had a real force in Europe (maybe Forest when they won the EC back to back), nothing long lasting anyway.

They probably did consider these things and thought £30m meh it's worth a punt, the squad is short of a few. Obviously weren't prepared to offer him top wages though as a squad filler so he went elsewhere. **** happens.

Say what you want, it is funny though looking at how you go about business now, the world sees it and laughs. And you have the manager that is renowned for it! (also well known for other very unsavoury things and not just his inability to train a player)
