My quick google suggests Rogers was on 100k per week as he was unemployed under terms of his contract or 5mil per year for next two years
So.... he took celtic job and gives that up.

Couple of other possibilities...
a) if Celtic are paying less than £100k pw then we could still be paying the difference
Or
b) Brod could have negotiated with Liverpool; "I'm getting £100k pw atm but would like to take the Celtic job. I'm not prepared to lose the income from Liverpool, pay me £50k pw and I'll take the job"
