At this point, given the events of the last week - I agree

I think the view will be that he'll probably increase in value this season and with the Euro's to follow, so it might be in the best interests of club and player to wait until next summer.

Just hope he's got more sense than the little **** <ok>

yes given the bids so far have been low ball.

how much more can a CB be worth though?

I mean you've the strong contract position but whats the top top end for a CB now? ignoring of course the ludicrous fee for luiz...

35? 40?

Who knows in this crazy market.

But the Luiz fee (especially given it was Chelsea) sort of sets the benchmark.

It'd take balls of steel to turn down that sort of money.

it does... but then when we said that about mr sterling we were told we were nuts and we'd get 25mil if lucky.

but then he's a forward

50mil for top top cb?

probably 5 years away but luiz and mangala and the next guy in will probe say 35mil is going rate... add the endlgish fee to that... 40- 45?

Kenwright can't accept anything at this point given the protests and Martinez stating he's going nowhere.

Only the player handing in a transfer request will make him move this window now imo.

Usual argument time...

Everton obviously wouldn't let Stones leave for free but equally, they would accept £1b. Somewhere inbetween is a changing point. the only question is, will Chelsea reach that point.

To say Kenwrightcan't accept anything is a bit silly IMO, of course he can if Chelsea are desperate enough to offer silly money.

I don't think Stones will be moving though.

They flew a banner over St Marys telling him to **** off due to the lack of investment.

His manager came out last week and said emphatically that he's going nowhere.

How can he possibly sell Stones in the last week of the window post both of those events?

He'd be ****ing lynched <laugh>

As we'd not have enough time to buy in quality replacements and it'd totally disrupt the team and squad morale.

I think it's impossible for Kenwright to agree a deal - at any figure, this window now. The only caveat being if the player himself handed in a request.

They could have bought two half season tickets for the cost of that plane

It's only impossible because Chelsea aren't going to offer the crazy money it would now take as a result of those actions. Every single player in the world would be sold if offered enough money, no matter what the situation.

As for not getting a replacement, the are two scenarios that could be offered;
1) buy stones and loan him back to you
2) offer another player in exchange or on loan to compensate the late loss

Of course, Everton will have been pretty stupid if they've not already got a list of potential replacements considering its been going on all summer.

1. Chelsea want him NOW - not next season.

2. We don't want any of their available cast offs - Moses ffs <laugh>

Agree with both those points, was just pointing out there are ways around it. what you, I or anyone else on here thinks is irrelevant, it's what Everton and Chelsea do.

Stone has a lot of potential. I think he's already a good player.

£30m+ is buying a player who will play for the next 10 years. Similar to United buying players like Rooney and Rio.

Reactions: Mr Beej
so you fully admit that signing cheslea cast offs makes you happy... ergo... your point no 2 was complete arse.

No, silly boy. Lukaku asked to leave, we paid £28m for him.

Lukukau was also a player who I've always liked.

There's currently not one of the potentially available Chelsea also rans that I'd get excited about.

keep digging..

if you took this attitude two years ago you'd not have mr lukaku

BTW kalas would suit you guys i reckon. there's several players who would suit far better than utd reserves you lot always end up with.
