Or he's loyal. He signed a 5 year contract before all the other big signings came and went to a team challenging from villa. Can't blame him for that. He played quite a bit but towards the end became a squad player who was bein shifted around never played in his favourite position and was dropped for the big games even though he had done no wrong.

City wanted to keep him and pellegrini is very highly spoken of him, but he played 100% until his contract was up.

Now ow he's come to play more first team football in the role he prefers.

Of of all the footballers who move for one reason or the other, I can't believe you're bashing Milner for wanting to move to play more football!

yes money comes into it, but guy could have got 150k a week at City and played 1/3 of the season for next 3 years and no one would have said a word. Instead wants to play and id rather have a team of players with his attitude.

I just don't buy it mate. He's played roughly the same amount of mins as Joe Allen over past 3 years. He was nothing more than just a squad player at City - they weren't desperate to keep him. They offered him a deal worth £165k a week, we offered him £150k as a base. Not to mention the £5-10m signing on fee.

Like I said, if he really wanted to play more footy, he could have left years ago. But he didn't because he knew no other big club wanted him or willing to pay his ridiculous wages.

Clearly not, but they are goal scoring chances and id rather have someone with a decent record take them, than Hendo. If we get 10 Pena and benteke scored 9 of them, that's 9 goals towards potential wins.

And you keep saying we don't play that way with crosses, but that's because we have had steeling and Sturridge up top FfS.

How do you know this year we aren't going to adapt and use that as an option? Would make us much harder to defend against...

there re are more than 1 way to skin a cat, cout and firmy can offer a threat and if things aren't working switch it up and be a bit more direct with crosses.

you don't know how Rodgers wants to play, none of us do and until we see first 10 games with first team out we can't judge.

That's a fair point - no one has a clue on how Rodgers wants to set up.

But when you have two quality chance creators in Coutinho and Firmino, I would look to spend money on buying a player who suits their style.

If he had handed a transfer request there's have been a load of clubs queueing up for him. He neve rindicated he wanted to leave because he was playing football for a team winning things, he was loyal stayed to end of his contract and now wants to move for more football.

I'm happy to have nice debate but if you think Milner is moving because he's greedy and just for the money then No going further with this <doh>

The reason the money thing doesn't get mentioned that much is because he's a quiet and unassuming lad who does work hard.

If he was brash and had a bit of swag ala Sterling, I'm sure more would be made of it.

No mate - don't agree with that at all. You build around your biggest strengths. You don't mould your best players to suit mediocre ones.

Who's to say Benteke won't be our biggest strength. Yes have your doubts but you can't judge a player until he's played for us.

You're so quick to riweote off benteke before he's even signed or kicked a ball, yet happy to defend balotelli when he played and offered nothing to us.

Just open your mind that maybe we're changing the way to we play. Benteke is more than just a lump it up to him man, just because villa used him like that doesn't mean he can only do that.

Training sith Coutinho and others may help him develop other areas.

Just get get stop being so grumpy and get behind a signing for a change. Until they play, benteke is just as good for us as Firmino is Messi

BBC saying that Villa and LFC are discussing payment structure. No medical can take place until sorted...

Of course it can. Clubs don't even have to have agreed a fee for contract talks and a medical to take place, the selling club just needs to issue permission. Since Benteke as a release clause, there isn't much point in Villa denying either.

Strange as reported we'd met the release clause which would suggest straight up cash and now maybe hoping to only pay certain amount with add ones to make it up to the 32m

maybe 25m and Lambert <ok>

Yeah but if villa don't want anything other than 32m straight up, try don't have to issue permission.

Maybe be they don't want benteke to have his head turned and then be under pressure to accept less once he's agreed terms and passed a medical. Once that has happened it would be hard for villa to say no and him come back and play for them.

Nope - that's too boring. <ok>

And yes, I can judge players already because I've seen them play. Same I did with Lallana and Lovren when everyone was creaming over them because they looked good at Soton. <ok>

You're right in that I didn't write Mario off - why? Because the manager didn't play to his strengths - you expect Rodgers to play to Benteke and he may succeed. But we didn't do the same for Mario but yet you and most others wrote him off. It's sheer hypocrisy when some fans tell me I'm too negative and write off players like Milner etc but they do exactly the same with the likes of Mario, Sakho, Moreno etc.

P.S I've been waiting to clock for about 3 hours now. I need to drum up some entertainment to get me through this! No hard feelings. <ok>

Probably a case of we've agreed to pay the release clause but we want to negotiate how it's paid. Not often a fee is paid 100% upfront
