Liverpool FC transfer rumours: Reds plot massive £46million move for Marco Reus
Rodgers to use Raheem Sterling cash to smash club transfer record

Meanwhile, as Rodgers looks to reshape his squad, his two Italian strikers could both be heading home.
Mario Balotelli is a target for Fiorentina say Mailonline, who reckon the Serie A side are plotting a loan move if they can offload the high-earning Germany international Mario Gomez to a Premier League club.

The former Manchester City frontman, 24, netted just once for the Reds in 16 Premier League appearances last season but found the net 14 times domestically in Italy the year before with Milan.
Compatriot Fabio Borini is wanted by Lazio say Italian newspaper Il Messaggero.
Like Balotelli, Borini, who is also 24, has been left at home to sort out his future despite Liverpool jetting off on their pre-season tour of Asia and Australia.

Borini was Rodgers’ first signing when he joined the Reds from Lazio’s city rivals Roma for £10.5million in 2012 but he spent the 2013/14 season on loan at Sunderland and could have joined the Black Cats permanently last summer but rejected a £14million move.

Claudio Ranieri: Leicester City appoint ex-Chelsea manager
Former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri has been appointed Leicester City's manager on a three-year contract.
The 63-year-old Italian replaces Nigel Pearson, who was sacked on 30 June despite keeping the Foxes in the Premier League last season.
Ranieri has not worked in England since leaving Stamford Bridge in 2004, and was sacked as Greece manager last year.
"Since I left Chelsea I have dreamt of another chance to work in the best league in the world again," he said.
"I wish to thank the owner, his son and all the executives of the club for the opportunity they are giving me. Now I've only one way for returning their trust: squeeze all my energies to getting the best results for the team."

Nice bloke, hope he does well.

But I doubt he'll last the season at a club like Leicester who won't warm to him.

Always thought that was an unjustified tag for Ranieri, surely every manager 'tinkers' at times

Yeh nobody blinks an eye when you hear a manager has not picked the same side in like 1000 games. Back then the press used to slaughter him for it.

Didn't Carra big up Lovren ... <whistle>

He's not wrong though - we are awful in the transfer market.

Without this getting into another Brits vs foreigners argument, our worst transfers appear to be under British managers. Roy, Kenny and Rodgers.

He's not actually saying we're bad in the transfer window though. The window is about selling and buying - glass half empty comes to mind <whistle>
