Yup. Pretty much. Genuinely can't think of a real 'star' outside of the top 5 or 6 clubs in Europe (Chelsea, PSG, Juve, Barca, Bayern & Real) at the moment. It felt a few years ago there were always stars at even clubs that weren't competing like Gerrard, Shearer, Totti, etc. Truly world class talents that will be remembered for generations. But there doesn't seem to be many outside of the clubs I listed above anymore.

Or RvP for that matter. But if he helps United achieve the success both of them did, it will be money well spent.

You need to have sell on value for Liverpool, it's how small clubs survive. Forget what he can do for the team, will he be worth more at the end of it so we can buy someone else <ok>
 
Schweinsteiger may have had fitness issues the last few years, but I'd have taken him in a flash for that price! Quality midfielder, bags of experience and one of the few midfielders who is a proper leader on the pitch - something we lack.

If they have him for even half the season, he'll have been a bargain imo.
