Clyne is a very good full back - very good all round. Questions over him defensively, especially if we took him out of a very good structure at Soton and put him into ours.

Still maintain Manquillo is our best full back defensively (which is the most important aspect for any defender) but Clyne is better all around.

£15m is a lot of a full back, especially when we have greater needs.

Our...? <whistle>

Ha let's not get into that!

But going back to Clyne - I wouldn't actually mind signing him as I think he would be improve the first XI. But £15m is a lot ...

Agreed. For £5-£10m then certainly, but £15m is a lot for someone that as you say is better, but top 4 level? Not so sure...

would rather get in Arbeloa until Flanno is fit again

I think Clyne is top 4 level - he is a very good full back, one of the best in the league and certainly the best English full back. It's not so much the amount that's bugging me - it's just that the same amount could go towards a more important area.

I'd rather we signed Ricardo Rodriguez and get Flanno fit :)
