I talked a lot about Song in January about how we should be looking to get him but since Jan his form has nosedived in the same way West Ham's have. He doesn't seem to have the character to step up when he team are down which isn't ideal.

Maybe he isnt on Song though if all the others are playing ****. Hard, birtually impossible to rescue your team if everyone else is playing rubbish

I guess it helps if you're singing from the same hymn sheet.

You can still play well in a **** team though... De Gea has done it all year <ok>

Memphis Depay, Christian Benteke and Alex Song are all supposedly heading to Anfield this summer.

Aston Villa striker Benteke is set to cost £30m and may involve Rickie Lambert heading to Villa Park, it seems, while PSV Eindhoven’s Depay will command a fee of £25m.

Song is currently on loan to West Ham from Barcelona but has indicated he wants to stay in England and it is thought a £10m fee could tempt the Catalan giants into a sale.

I'd be happy with that trip arriving but can't see it being just those three of that proves to be the case.

With Jones, Johnson, Toure and Gerrard all leaving plus a few others that will probably go as well, we'd be seriously short of players in other areas.

Those are useless to us now though

But the three mentioned and it's risky but at least it's some attempt

For the record is be disgusted with be released at 30 mil cos I think he's a risk and sing is not great sure prob better than nothing but **** it think song plus Allen eh? Class that not

They may be useless to us now but they still form part of the squad numbers that will need replacing. Whether that be with youth or signings is another matter.

I presume its what we should sign or are linked to and what we will actually do.

7 new players in first team all linked to us during year

cech, papainjuryprone, nainggolan, Pjanic, Depay, Lacazette, montoya

the actual signings

Williams.. no chance we signed skertl. Fanni... can't remember but in think this was what rodgers was after in rome.... Milnert on a free and ings on a "free with tribunal payment)

Either way niether is happening.

Liverpool are set for a squad overhaul in the summer transfer window, with Brendan Rodgers undoubtedly setting about identifying which players can help his side return to the Champions League.
A number of big names have been linked to the Reds, with the months of July and August potentially set to be filled with excitement for those on Merseyside.
But Liverpool fans have been here before, haven’t they…
In a dream scenario, Liverpool would sort out Raheem Sterling‘s contract and tie him down to a long deal that would see him help lead Liverpool’s attack for years to come.

Then they’d build a strikeforce that would let fans finally forget about Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge’s injury woes by adding Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette and PSV’s Memphis Depay, who is already rumoured to have held talks with Anfield officials.
Dropping back into midfield, Philippe Coutinho would remain as the chief string puller, while the Reds could replace the bite and creativity of a young Steven Gerrard by launching a double raid on Roma for Miralem Pjanic and the £29million-rated Radja Nainggolan.
With Martin Skrtel potentially set to depart Anfield, Liverpool could for move for Schalke’s Kygriakos Papadopoulos, while bringing in a high-calibre replacement for Glen Johnson in the form of Barcelona’s Martin Montoya.
Add Petr Cech in for Simon Mignolet and you’ve got a serious team on your hands.
But, really, we all know this isn’t going to happen…

If Sterling does and Sturridge continues to struggle with injury, Liverpool’s ‘marquee signing’ upfront is far more likely to be Burnley’s Danny Ings,with Lazar Markovic and potential new arrival James Milner forced to take up the wide attacking roles.
For Nainggolan, read Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph,who could form a ‘fearsome’ midfield partnership with Jordan Henderson.
If Skrtel does leave, Rodgers is surely more likely to raid his former club Swansea for Ashley Williams, while Johnson’s going to be replaced with the 33-year-old Marseille defender Rod Fanni, isn’t he?
And, of course, it’ll still be Mignolet in nets.
But don’t worry, Liverpool fans – there’s always January…

This will all definitely, definitely happen (Picture: Metro)

No one in the first line-up would want to join us. Simple as that. We're then left to the C tier players like Gashley Williams and Co

its all a bit of bull though as the links are all too spread out over time.

cech was last summer we are not in for cech
Lazacette was last summer too, that boat has sailed.. rumours were someone on comittee wanted him and someone else wanted someone else so they compromised and got badontelly... so all should be sacked IMO
Depay is a clear current link but i think its a lot of made up stuff
Pjanic was a january link and it clearly wained a lot.
Papa is a crock and nobody is interested so thats quite old... plus skertl signed a contract so the whole insdier stuff has been blown there
montoya is a summer link as well form last year. thats never happeneing and he's not all that either mentally as he can't cut the barca reserve apron strings
Nainggolan is a recent link

Milner is a clear link that nobody is denying but nobody seems to know what his intent is.
Ings was a link in juanuary but since then nobody knows again...
delph is a long since dead link. he signed a new contract at villa pricing us out
Fanni is simply that... pure fanni
williams.. again is rubbish thats 3 years old

so....

all in all.. total muck

DM isnt exactly a possition for lifting a team from. Song is about passes and tackles.

You'd be surprised - it's such a crucial role but so underrated. A quality DM protects the defence but allows the offensive players to go and attack without having to worry too much about defensive duties.

Every top team has a DM.

Papa would have been good but he's dislocated his shoulder and out for 3 months. Need to steer clear of him - such a shame.

Lacazette = £30m+
Depay = £25m+
Pjanic = £20m+
Golan = £20m?
Montoya = £10m
Papa = £6m (based on last rumours)
Cech = £4m (over compensating)

That's £115m+!!!
