EXCLUSIVE: Danny Ings to SNUB Liverpool in favour of move to Man United
MANCHESTER UNITED have jumped ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Burnley striker Danny Ings.
It means United could ditch on-loan Radamel Falcao this summer – rather than pay Monaco £46million to make his move permanent – and replace him with free-agent Ings.
The Turf Moor front man is out of contract at the end of the season and has been a major target for Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle and Real Sociedad, managed by former Old Trafford boss David Moyes.
Ings, 22 has also been checked out by Manchester City and Chelsea.
But the Daily Star Sunday can reveal that the feeling at Turf Moor is that Ings will opt for Louis van Gaal's United.

Old Trafford scouts have closely monitored Ings in recent weeks. United, like Tottenham, have also checked out speedy Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerik Aubameyang.
But Aubameyang, 25, is valued at £30m, compared to the compensation figure Burnley would be entitled to for Ings - which is likely to be between £3m and £5m.
United would also like to prevent Ings joining one of their Champions League rivals.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are keeping a keen eye on Ander Herrera at Manchester United.

EXIT DOOR: Ings' deal could see Falcao leave [GETTY]
Herrera has been one of United's brighter players but he has often been placed on the fringes of the starting XI.
Barca are hamstrung by a transfer ban but they are weighing up who to bring in as replacements for the ageing Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
Xavi intends to stay another season at Barca despite offers from New York and the Middle East.
And it is claimed United were only Radamel Falcao's third choice when he joined them in the summer.
The Colombian has admitted to friends that he took the wrong option when he joined on loan in August last year.

a.k.a. United wont sell *wink*
Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat could be set for a summer move to Premier League rivals Liverpool. The 25-year-old has caught the attention of Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and could be seen as a long-term replacement for Glen Johnson on the bench, who looks set to leave the club when his deal expires in the summer. I would only get him in a cheap deal because our AM area is our strongest area with Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana and Markovic rotating there (though Markovic mostly plays wide right).Kevin De Bruyne rumoured to be coming back to PL.
Cracking young player who is showing his ability. Would love him at Liverpool but could cost too much.

A quality alternative to Coutinho would be a luxury addition to the squad and De Bruyne would improve our attacking options and squad flexibility nicely, but I wouldnt spend big when we need other high price positions strengthened more urgently (striker, CM).
Throw in Vietto as back up if you wish. We need to ship out ALL of the dead wood in our forward line! We have one striker worthy of a starting place. Then we have to use Sterling as the rest aren't good enough. This story has been reproduced from today's media. It does not necessarily represent the position of Liverpool Football Club.

Liverpool are looking to close the signing of Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino, with a £18.6 million offer going in.
The Reds have been scouting Brazilian sensation Firmino consistently for the last 18 months - and have been strongly linked with a summer deal.
Arsenal and Manchester United also want the player, but reports say Liverpool are looking to seal the deal, with a £18.6million bid set to be made.
Liverpool are looking to add an extra creative talent next term - and Firmino is seen as the ideal signing.
