Former Liverpool FC midfielder Suso says that he left Anfield for AC Milan because the Reds' contract offer did not appeal to him both “economically nor in a sporting sense.”

The Spanish youngster departed Anfield this week after rejecting the offer of fresh terms and signing a deal with Italian giants Milan.

Suso says that Liverpool’s offer didn’t meet his demands, and that he couldn’t turn down the chance to move to Italy.

He told MARCA: “My contract was set to expire in June and Liverpool’s offers did not satisfy me, neither economically nor in a sporting sense.

“I arrived very much as a boy and I have learned a lot. I have grown, but I have not noticed a lot of trust in me.

“I wanted a change of scenery. And Milan offers me everything that I needed.

"I am very grateful to Liverpool, I have left great friends there. But now I think only about making my Milan debut."

Suso also spoke of his admiration for Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

He said: "What did I learn from Steven Gerrard? His professionalism.

“With the level he has shown, all that he has won and the admiration that he has generated and still generates in his city, in his country and all around the world. Steven trains each day as if it were his first, as if he was a youth player. It was a daily lesson."

I don't mind the football side or sporting as is translated no doubt from some interview in Italy

He can say lack of trust or wanting games I've no issue at all

But he said unattractive economically so that must mean he wanted a big contract and lfc were never giving a kid who's barely played and isn't first team a big contract

Looking at former targets, according to the Mirror:

The agent of Yann M'Vila says that QPR are leading the race for the French midfielder's signature.

M'Vila is on loan at Inter Milan from Rubin Kazan, but new Inter chief Roberto Mancini wants rid of the midfielder.

However, the Frenchman is NOT keen on returning to Russia and is hoping to head elsewhere.

Fabrizio Ferrari, M’Vila’s agent, said: “There are many sides interested in him [M’Vila]. However, at this point in time, QPR have been the most active.”

My guess is that the owners are looking beyond Rodgers in the summer and won't give him any money.

Like last January where we didn't sign a soul .I think it is more that there is absolutely no value this window. We do not need extra bodies if it is a signing it has to be a player we need.

For argument purposes, if money was available who is available to improve the team? Who would you buy?

True but Brod's best two signings arrived in his first January window too

But last year, we were actively looking at players but couldn't close the deal.

This time around, there's not much speculation at all. The fact we were looking at bringing back Origi, and recalled Ibe shows that either LFC have one eye on FFP or owners don't want to back Rodgers.

But I read somewhere that we could afford to spend £20m to be within FFP hence why I think the owners want Rodgers out come end of the season.

There is a lot of value in January - we signed the likes of Mascherano, Agger, Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho in January.

Which brings me back to my earlier question

Fabien Schar of Basel. He's a RCB and would be perfect replacement for Skrtel. His contract is running out so we should get him on the cheap.

Shaqiri would have been another one, and a bargain at £11m.

Kevin Trapp reportedly has a release clause of €4m and is one of the top GK prospects in Germany.

There wasn't much speculation at all, it was very similar to this year. The rumours started in the final week. Hence me repeatedly saying that Brod always claims we won't be doing anything only to change to "we'll have to see" in the final week. the final day or two he'll start talking about exciting arrivals and then once the window closes he'll become Mr Respectable and 'the deal wasn't to be'.

It was widely known that we were after Mo Salah all month, and then turned our attention to Konoplyanka in the final week.

no it wasn't. there were the odd rumours but only as much as there was for other both last year and this. It gathered pace later in the window. the Plank was the only constant link.
