Piqué to Man Utd?

FFS this window is crap just close it this Friday no one gives a ****

So

No arbeloa thank ****

No winston Reid thank ****

No bernahino that ****

So basically that's that.

I'd rather nobody than this lot after the summer we had

Markovic is known all over Europe - no offence but you're not really aware of anything outside of England. You probably hadn't heard of Luis Suarez before he joined Liverpool. ;)

And becoming a regular for Partizan at 17, and Benfica at 19/20 surely indicates how promising he is.
Being known and being regarded as 'an elite talent' are not one and the same...................

Lucas wants to go, Rodgers wants to keep him (at least until the summer) apparently:

Lucas Leiva wants to leave Liverpool and is intrigued by the prospect of a move to Inter Milan, sources have told ESPN FC.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has ruled out letting the midfielder go in this transfer window, but ESPN FC has been told the Brazilian is willing to move and that he feels undervalued at Anfield.

Lucas has been a key factor in Liverpool's recent revival and they have not lost in any of his last 13 appearances, but the Brazilian has not forgotten that he was jettisoned from the team last January, when Steven Gerrard was installed as the anchor midfielder, and rarely started until his recall in November.

Lucas considered going last summer, when Rodgers would have allowed him to leave, and his recent return to favour has not been enough to persuade him that his long-term future lies at Anfield.

Inter have been linked with him and the 28-year-old would consider joining a club of their size.

Liverpool are already certain to lose their other most experienced midfielder, with Gerrard joining LA Galaxy in the summer, and Rodgers is now keen to keep Lucas.

He said in a news conference last week: "No, he is not one that we would want to lose in January. It is not something I would be willing to do in January. Of course at the end of the season everything is looked at again, but the team is in a good momentum."

Rodgers said last month that Liverpool have not received an offer from Napoli or any other club for Lucas.

Lucas, who joined Liverpool from Gremio in 2007, has made 262 appearances for the club and was named their Player of the Year in 2010-11.

That's him gone then <grr>

in reality some players realise that to make money moving is the easiest way... this is not lucas obviously but the example given by many frankly ordinary players like shane long for example is you can advance yourself with middling form if clubs are willing to pony up for you. YOu then get fat singing on fees and such plus loyalty bonuses out of whatever contract you were on.

so for me lucas has to weigh up the folliwing:

1. I am playing now
2. Gerrard is leaving
3. I am on decent moeny (presumably)

4 do i risk it going to italy for probably similar money but better tax
5. what signing on fee do i get?

these days a contract is only worth the name if its got 2 or more years left to run. LFC signed lucas up on a contract in 2013 to run til 2017 i beleive.

As this is the case i think lfc can play the guy and increase his value this year... he should be an ever present alongside henderson.
