I agree. Enrique is the best all round full back at the club (bar Flanno) and Moreno is good and potential to be very good. We're alright in that department

Liverpool FC skipper Steven Gerrard may reject a new contract and opt to retire at the end of the current season, according to new reports today.

Form and fitness are a consideration for Gerrard, who only wants to carry on playing if he can be effective for the team.

There has also been talk that he could be offered a deal in the MLS, with New York Red Bulls and New York City both still recruiting.

Liverpool are said to be set to offer Brazilian goalkeeper Neto £30,000-per-week in a pre-contract agreement, according to Italian reports.

The Reds are looking to replace goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and believe that the Fiorentina could be the man to sure up the last line of defence.

Neto, 25, is out of contract next summer and Liverpool want to get him secured for the new season.

Arsenal and Liverpool are set to be upstaged in their pursuit for Jackson Martinez by Tottenham, according to the Daily Express.

The forward has been given a price-tag of £40million by Porto bosses, as Martinez revealed that he believes his future lies away from the Portuguese league.

But with Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor struggling to find the net on a consistent basis, Tottenham are said to be willing to stump up the cash and compete with the Premier League big spenders to secure their man.

Arsenal and Liverpool will compete for the £12million signature of Manchester United's Javier Hernandez in January, according to the Daily Star.

The Mexican is currently on loan at Real Madrid, but despite scoring three times in limited playing opportunities, Chicharito is unlikely to have his move made permanent.

It means that he will return to Old Trafford at the end of the current season, but would be behind the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and likely Radamel Falcao in the pecking order.

I'm not sure I'd be open to all of these. Hernandez could do a good job for us though.
 
I hope gerrard does retire... its desperately sad watching him struggle on... retire i say... maybe focus all on league cup and stick a pot on the shelf and announce retirement then.

tottenham are NOT going to buy jackson martinez unless they are shifting soldado... and maybe lamela.

rhc is right hernandez is tainted and aint that good.
 
Alex song would be a great signing for us. Can do a job defensively and has a little bit about him going forward.

Hernandez is good at getting in the box to take advantage of any opportunities or mistakes. I don't think that suits us as much as our play is generally more deliberate than just throwing it in 100 times a game and seeing what happens.
 
none... i've no clue about him.... bargain basement shopping for frees again would indicate he's not a worldie coming to be no 1. and that cech is a pipe dream however.
