Its speculation regarding jones' role but I think rodgers has been disappointed with mingolet in general and so this signing may be more about first team role than some would like to say. He's now total muck btw... worse than riena ever was etc etc.

for the record i've never rated either casillas nor valdes but compared to that pinto fella the lad is decent. I refuse to believe that aside for irreconcilable differences that compared to reina this improves us but that's in the past so compared to jones it has to be an improvement

Ok boss <whistle> So.....Valdes then. Rodgers feeling Ming needs a kick up the arse or just doesn't trust Jones (or both)??

I'd assume "Both" is the correct answer..
Ming needs pushing, sort of, don't **** about or this chap is here to take over..
If Valdes does come in, could see Jones leaving, maybe in Jan Window...

Have to laugh at the irony of mito trying to keep the board in line.

He's not the only one then. I agree about Ming and Valdes although I know who'd I'd rather see between our sticks (even though Valdes is injured) <ok>

Well,

Valdes has experience and is free and now his career is almost over is probs happy to set on the bench
I don't see this as anything more than just a replacement for Jones tbh and a prudent move as 3 gks for 4 competitions is important imho

its all rumours though... i think first day back in preseason the not very happy with stuff was rumoured. I think yeah 4 comps (hopefully stil jan) then yeah 3 keepers is not a bad thing

So you have all summer to sort out a deal... and decide to do it after the window has closed, go crying to Fifa and they allow it <doh>

John Guidetti's loan move from Manchester City to Celtic has been completed after Fifa allowed the move to go ahead.

Paperwork to register the Swedish striker was filed after Monday's transfer deadline.

The Scottish FA and Scottish Professional Football League asked Fifa for dispensation for the 22-year-old's proposed move to Glasgow.

Guidetti's becomes Celtic's seventh signing of the summer.

However, as things stand, the player may be ineligible to play in the Europa League, as Uefa's deadline for squad filing expired at midnight on Tuesday.

A Fifa spokesperson said: "After checking the documentation received and the information contained in the international transfer matching system managed by Fifa TMS, the Scottish Football Association was informed today that the envisaged loan deal may proceed."
