I think it's a more appealing project now than when Klopp left. Agree Klopp, the only way was down other than continuing on the same path. Now there is room to improve and less pressure to deliver.

I agree that following Klopp was always going to be tough.

However, the rate of the (negative) change is shocking and it doesn’t stop at Slot.

Edwards and Hughes are part of the problem. I hope that FSG has a bit of a clean sweep with proper footballing people managing footballing roles.

I would love be to see Jurgen as a DoF and Alonso as Head Coach. Leave the money men in money roles.

I don't get this Hughes and Edwards attack tbh. Edwards has been here before I was very successful, fair enough it's a different role. Hughes was very successful at Ballmouth too.

Generally, most of us were happy with the activity last summer with only two question marks; not buying a CB (throw letting Quansah go in this bit) and spending so much on Isak. Most were over the moon when we got Wirtz and Frimpong early on.

They have no influence on how we perform on the pitch. A lack of fitness, desire and mental attitude is down to the coaching staff and, for that, the buck stops with Slot.

Slot has sat back and watched us do the same things for over a year now but nothings changed. Why hasn't he done anything?

As I've said before, I've nothing against Slot, he's a decent coach. But he's not the level we need or desire. I don't like referring to Klopp but, would we be putting in these performances if he was in charge?

Slot doesn't even trust half the players in the squad and he makes comments that will deflate them too. Couldn't be more opposite to Jürgen imo

Slot should have gone in winter. That’s down to the management. By all accounts, Hughes is not well liked and doesn’t listen to the coaches - that’s not a good situation to have. Klopp essentially got rid of Edwards in his first spell.

Now, with hindsight, look at the player acquisitions. Do they suit any style of play that we have employed this year? Then Slots persistent bleats that we did not add, merely replaced……our management have failed us this year, as well as the coaches.

So, I’m afraid that I do not agree with you. Either Hughes or Edwards has to go. Perhaps both. They have failed as badly as Slot imo.

On the playing style and fitness, some of us called it very early, others, understandably, thought that time would fix everything. Alas, the coaching set up is completely broken.

cant we steal klopp from redbull for sporting director and get xabi as manager and Stevie his assistant

My takeaway from that video I posted - there's no cohesion anywhere, either on the pitch or off it; from the tactics employed to the relationships between coaches / players / fans. Once you lose the support of the fans, it's over.

This club thrives when we work as one. There are too many moving parts not coming together to make something great. It's like Slot has taken an engine apart and doesn't know how to put the parts back or where they fit.

I said at the time that i thought that window was a disaster as we weakened the squad overall but Slot has exacerbated that by relying on about 14 players to start and because he is worried about burning them out skimped on pre season and told them to play slow possession football despite the fact that we always look best playing with pace .

Wasn't sure where to post this. It's a good insight into what a lot of fans are feeling this season.

Very good video.

As much as slot gets a lot of ****.

The loss of Henderson and milner is huge in maintaining standards.

The loss of the work rate of Nunez and Diaz (the slightly psychotic aspect as well) is massive.

You look at the team and it's lost so many characters in just a few years, it's going to be a struggle.

It's not just talent, we desperately need to sign a number of players that will get what playing for Liverpool is about. If we go down the road of ignoring character, sign player after player on supposed talent, we will be in the real **** for years.

It's the mistake united made. I really hope we don't do the same.

I used to have a regular argument with Jimmy Square foot on "talent Vs effort". For me, talent comes and goes and is a variable that can be a sliding scale. Edit is a non-variable, anything less than 100% is unacceptable no matter the ability level.

Obviously, we'd like and prefer players to have both but I'd choose effort over talent every single day of the week.

Those players are usually the ones who get scapegoated when the going gets tough, then when you remove them people realise how important they were

I still don't buy that the league win last season was all down to Klopp when he didn't win the league with that team. Klopp also didn't put Gravenberg at no.6 and don't think he ever would have.

Obviously wasn't all down to Klopp, he wasn't there, but it a Jürgen's team.

It's a fair point and Slot should take some credit......but this season just hasn't worked for a whole host of reasons and......he's gotta go.

Can understand why Robbo would leave. Wants to be first choice on his last proper contract. Just a shame that losing the key leadership group over last few years in taa robbo and Salah. Some absolute legends of the club moved on last couple years and although the club has to move forward, always sad when players of that golden period move on.

Proper legend of a left back and best in my era for sure.

I was going to say that but we need to wait and see what happens. I'm confident Alonso will be Liverpool manager come August though
Needs to be in earlier.

Come May 25th Alonso needs to be walking through the door for his first day.

Needs to get in there and either control Hughes or whoever is working as DoF and get the targets sorted to fix the squad.

I'd prefer it to be earlier than that tbh, we'll see.

Personally, I'd do it now. It's not going to improve under Slot. Maybe bringing a new manager in will give enough of a boost for the reminder of the season to get CL football, maybe even turn the PSG tie around
