My point entirely. They bought him and then went on to win 3 titles on the trot, and a CL to boot, and he was instrumental in that team (as my ****ing ex was wont to point out).

Yeah, he was never worth that fee but they paid it and he went on to be a long and turgid servant and rated by some as an actual good player.

He played cb at times and was there as utd fell apart.

Rio ferdinand was mega money but you know, in the end well worth it. You.cant argue with that.

Rooney was mega money for a hairy backed manchild but again well worth it.

The point being you.see the opportunity you.go.get it.

Vvd was expensive but we moved coutinho to cover it.

Same for alisson. We made it happen and never regretted either.

Wirtz and Ekitike will be the same imo. They have the attitude. They have the skills.

I doubt isak will be.

Fuxake, Sky congratulating their Newcastle correspondent for his 'fantastic' coverage of the Isak story this summer: he said from the very beginning that Isak wouldn't be sold for anything less than Newcastle's £150m asking price, and even said over the weekend that he thought Isak would be staying and re-integrating into the squad. Pfft. :emoticon-0114-dull:

Sky really are hilarious.

I hope newcastle go do something this season now. They have their pounds of flesh as do we. They need to sit back at board room.level and see what's going on.

A mouth piece manager who all but pushed the player out the door and a complete shambles at executive level.

They should go get some executives to run the club and then sack howe and get a proper manager in.

We've paid at least £45m too much, without a doubt, but then again, only two years ago we were going to spend £110m on ****ing Caicedo, and that REALLY was double the book price.

Elliott has gone.

Any word on the laon fee?

35mil next year is meh. Hope the loan fee is at least 5mil.

Tbh he's let the gsmes drift by him.and rarely had any impact starting. Did ok gambling late on in games but overall a disappointing player given his ability.

Too many side and back passes and not enough dominating the ball.

If you took the best of Jones (cocky little ****) and the best of Elliott (half decent skill, hard worker) you would make a wirtz.

I'd agree tbh.

Wrong age
Wrong attitude
And tbh a 1 in 2 striker not a player about to score 30 in 30 games.

Exactly. A fair Isak comparison to a Man Utd signing would be Berbatov; big money for a short term but beneficial gain

Any word on getting shut of Elliott?

I don't know about the loan fee but they are paying his wages.

So we may have been the biggest spenders this summer, but for once Arsenal finish top as having the biggest net spend - £246m to our - £228m.

Chelsea balanced the books, with a +£3m

And Bmouth made the most with a +£87m

And just so Diego doesn't feel left out, ManU; - £148m

The PL outspent the 4 other big European leagues put together, around 3.1b to 2.9b

Chelsea have done some good selling, but Bayern paying 80m for Jackson is insane.
