I personally think we won't be letting half a dozen players go. Nunez was in talks with Napoli, so we know we are serious about selling him if we can. I think the likes of Diaz, Elliott, Konate, Chiesa are here to stay. An option like Mateta I'd actually welcome tbh, he's decent and a right handful.

id be happy if we bought a CB and a striker and just sold a couple from that list tbh. Since the passing of Jota, selling Diaz seems pointless unless we get a great offer and an equally great replacement. A #9 is super critical, as is a CB. (Two if Konate is moved on to capitalise on any value he may have now…but that doesn’t seem an issue to the club tbh)

Does Mateta have any pace? He seems a bit porky to me. Don't get me wrong, he's a deadly finisher and as strong as an ox, but a Cyrille Regis-type player has never really suited our style. That all said, if only Dawin had one-fifth of his touch and guile. :emoticon-0112-wonde
 
Mateta rumours seem to have been pretty much rubbished already.
Think this is an agent trying to stir up a transfer as ManU's early interest in him has dried up.

Can't see us going for him anyway, too old, too expensive. Doesn't fit the FSG profile.
 
Looks like Newcastle focusing on Ekitike. Looking at lower fee than the €100m was quoted at start of summer.

Talk of €80m for Ekitike which still seems high. No chance it’s €60m that’s only £50m and for that we’d be all over it.
 
I'm fairly.sure anyone courting a move right now isn't worth our time.

Mr Hughes will have to get back to work shortly but it won't be this week.

Only time will tell what that outgoings are actually like and then what we do next.

There's a lot of uncertainty about the line up as we speak and we could do with seeing it being resolved.

What is concrete is we sold a cb and need one as a result. That sale imo was madness but if we had no faith in the kid as a management than it had to happen. We are branded if we think what's in the u21s can compensate

Exactly. If you listen to the various voices we will have no cbs, no forwards amd no alisson etc
 
Bayern apparently bid deal worth €67m. LFC rejected and value at €100m but no plans to sell. Diaz apparently told he wants to leave - reported by David Ornstein.

Not ideal situation with Nunez not in favour and Jota’s passing. Would mean seriously in need of a CF.

Not 100% sure if he wants to leave, think he/his agent just want a bigger wage and now is the time to get it either from lfc or from someone else as in 2 years time will be 30 and unlikely to get anything massive.

We will see.

Anyone who wins one medal and wants to be off is pretty much nothing the mentality needed.

Ornstein is sometimes taken as gospel but he can only report what he is told and by whom he was told
