He did start the Plymouth game as well, tbf. And he was distinctly underwhelming. But he was not alone in that respect.

Yes. Slot was quite harsh with that team

Tsimikas was not given time like he had been before. He really looked a reserve to Robertson until the league was won.

Chiesa was just dropped, thst was it.

Diaz played and Jota played.

Endo was not given any more or less 5 to 20minite close out opportunities.

Elliott at least got on v psg and made a difference.

McConnell was stuck rb and thst was it for him after a lot of praise for cl cameos.

I do think training has more to do with theses calls as well but slot did seem to feel let down

The reality is he didn't play much under klopp either.

This is my opinion but he was better before that ankle injury. Whether it is psychological or its a conscious thing with him I don't know but he simply doesn't put himself about in any way. He will run about but he doesn't actually really get close to anyone.

Until he really figures that out.in his own mind he will not progress

Harry Wilson was a better player (imo) at the ahead but never got a go. That's boy could shoot and take frees. My God, still no pace.

Elliott is headed the same way, no pace really, bit of vision but too passive.

Bit of a shot and good attitude to being busy though.

It is what it is.
I think this is spot on. Elliott was on the way to being a good player with a good understanding between him and Salah when he was injured. Since then he's definitely running scared. Gets in good positions to take the odd shot and will score a few but just won't commit to a tackle or a challenge anymore. He's only going to be a squad player if he stays so, at this point, it's up to him how willing he is to be a bit part player until his contract situation decides for him.

It's sad for him.

I'm both disappointed for him and in him. I shouldn't be but he's a kid who could do more. He passes well but most of the time is passively just linking passes side and back rather than grabbing the game.

I'd like him to stay, he's Liverpool through and through. If he uses the summer well, he could come back a different player. I don't think he needs motivational help like, say, Nunez does. He needs maybe a sports psychologist reminding him of his capabilities and skills. He hasn't got pace ans we don't need a team of speed merchants but he has lots to offer.

He's a nice lad. Silly hair but not a bad bone in his body.

It does seem to be psychological and he needs to talk through stuff with the guys we have in the staff on it.

I’ve no idea why anyone thinks this deal won’t happen. You don’t conclude a 100m deal in matter of a few days and when you’re bidding 113m, you don’t give up because Leverkusen want a few million extra.

Especially when Wirtz is adamant he wants to move. Leverkusen know they can’t keep him as he’ll be pissed and he’ll be free to move for nothing probably to Bayern or us next summer instead.

Proper transfer window hasn’t even opened yet

Liverpool will have their spend limit and potentially Leverkusen don't really want to sell (hence the high price), but if they can make Wirtz think they tried maybe he won't be too pissy about it next season.

Honestly, haven't read the news today, but yesterday I was feeling very 50/50 on whether it would go through or not. We may get him, or we may not. What will be will be.

Sounds like Elliott is considering future. Can’t blame him, had injuries but started 2 games last year both once title was already run.

Just doesn’t have that pace or physicality that slot wants it seems and with Wirtz coming in he’s 3rd choice in that 10 role and slot doesn’t even see him as cover for Salah.

Real shame as he’s desperate to succeed and a proper fan of the club but after a good year under Klopp then barely playing last year, at his age it’s prob time to go find a club and be starter every week.

I’m sure under Klopp he’d probably have played a lot more but just isn’t quite that top top quality atm to be able to force his way in.

Hopefully goes to decent club, prefer if it’s abroad and we get a decent sell on %. Should be at least 30-40m

I like Elliott, but I do think Klopp liked him a lot more than Slot does. I get the feeling that, in general, Slot doesn't seem to want to develop young players the way Klopp did. He wants to play the best available to him now, rather than develop players.

That's only cos I used propaganda against the baldy one.

He's not that bad. But he clearly has trust issues.amd standards.

Lfc is a club that can carry a young player through a game but no english side can carry 3 or 4 through a game unless it's at home.and against really inferior opposition.

If lfc had gone "strong" v Plymouth with 3 kids on the park then I'm.sure we could carry it but we only went with mcconnell and nyoni plus senior reserves.

Kelleher
McConnell gomez quansah tsimikas
Endo nyoni
Chiesa Elliott Diaz
Jota

What didn't help that day was gomez going off and us sticking mayaba on after not playing for 2 years or more.

We stuck edo at cb. There was nothing on the bench then

The seniors let the kids down and let Slot down and he didn't use some after that.

Anyway, there were were with nyoni learning his trade and the player who could have been at cm playing rb and our cb went down for the season

Jones was on the bench but said he wasn't bothered or something the morning of the game so again no option travelled.

We stuck.the hapless nunez on with kone Doherty who was never right for that game.

To really develop youth you need them to be ready and able first (half ours are injured or not ready or on loan), then know the system (our youths are not aligned to slots system imo, not yet) and finally be minded by senior pros.

Scratch sides rarely work. Thry have a chance at home

Beg's the question: Who is the highest player? TAA had obviously been smoking something, but he's gone.
Nunez looks high a lot of the time.

Vvd is quite mellow. Too mellow.

It's not like the olden days when fowler would sniff a goal line and ruddock was literally pissed up on the park.
Surely Tsimikas?
